Nope didn’t get package yet. Shipped today. Just wondering if it was a “prewatchable” video. I guess in this case not. Thank you

This is truly beautiful. This is wonderfully constructed and to be honest, I could not see “the work” even when I knew it had to be happening. This creates a lovely picture for anyone who can use a table to perform this effect.

As a friend of Javi and being lucky to met him again in FISM Busan earlier this year, his version of Gypsy Thread should considered to be one of the best version now available. It was totally sold out in both Blackpool and FISM this year I believe, and being able stood next to his booth in the dealer room, Javi kept amazed every single magicians until all his Gypsy Thread sold out.
Besides one of the best version, Javi's version also an example how magic should be choreograph in the way which everything looks deceptive from all angles. His version of Gypsy thread can perform surrounded. My highest recommendation.
Most memorable moment - with Maestro Juan Tamariz & Consuelo Lorgia in FISM Busan 2018.

Hi everyone!
I don't post often but I'm taking a short break from practicing this wonderful routine. I contacted Javi yesterday because I had, I think, pretty much the same problem a few of you seemed to be have had already (and I think that's what Alex means when he says "sometimes I get it right, sometimes I don't"). He very nicely answered me a few minutes ago and gave me a tip which makes a whole lot of difference: When preparing whatever you have to prepare beforehand, make it as tight as you can. This will prevent any knotting problems afterwards during the revelation. I've tried it 4 or 5 times already and my handling has greatly improved! No more entanglement (is that even a word?) issues at the end. Javi also stressed something that's fairly obvious to anyone who has been practicing, i.e. that having the spectator's hand hold the thread makes the process a lot easier. Since I only have two hands (as I'm pretty sure most of us do), practicing the revelation phase isn't the easiest thing in the world. But putting one end of the thread under something heavy will help a lot. I'd use my Industrial Revelation if I hadn't lost it on the train coming back from a gig a few months ago (I'm still heart broken but that's another subject…). Coming back to the routine itself, I do not understand how El Hilo could be thought to be "overpriced". That's an easy and astounding piece of magic that I'll be performing for many years to come I'm sure and 50$ is small price to pay for that. Aren't we all looking for something special that packs flat and that we can perform in any situation? One on one or for a much larger group? It's easily prepared, can be adapted to any style or story, doesn't have any reset time between tables… I mean, what more could you ask for? I'm confident it plays really big and I love the dust kicker at the end (which you don't have to do, obviously). Granted, I haven't performed this yet, but I will try to do it in a few of my shows next week if I'm ready and tell you how it went. Thanks Javi for the help! Jérémie |

I will tell you guys this is the best gypsy thread routine period I had done it to a few of my friend and everytime they go crazy and I have not done the kicker at the end because I had not time to play with the magic dust as some people call it in other words by it self just the people cutting the thread and restoring it by them self is great trust me is worth every penny

Just received this. It looks good, but I have a few issues, which I just wrote to Ellusionist to address:
1) Is there any way to download the videos? Relying on streaming from across various websites and platforms is not a great way to build a library that is "future proof"--as technologies age and sites aren't kept up, things can get lost to the mists of time. I am hoping to be able to use my videos for decades to come, so I am very careful about archiving, organizing, and most of all backing up all of my files, and I'd love to add this to my collection. 2) There seems to be a piece missing from the "Preparation" video. Javi shows how to begin to prepare the finale materials, and then says that he's about to show how to take the second step, but then we skip to the middle of the thread preparation. It seems like the second half of the finale prep and the first half of the thread prep are skipped. 3) Javi says that refills of the dust material will be available on the website, but I don't see anything. Mine arrived damaged, so I'm already looking at a faster refill than expected. I'd love to know what's going to be involved in getting more thread and finale material. Evan |

I heard back from Ellusionist. They allowed me to download the videos. They also gave me a bit more info about the missing bits of instruction, and told me that the refills may or may not go up on the website (even though Javi mentions them in the video) and offered to sell me some. Still, the video is clearly missing some elements, and there is a misguided reference to refills. Overall, sloppy, but the customer service guy was nice and helpful. The whole thing is a bit slipshod for $50. I'm not sure I'll buy from them again, sadly.

Hello, this is my first post on the Café (finally made a paid email account lol), and I have some questions. What kinds of thread do you recommend to use for this routine? I know you could just purchase from Javi’s website but since I live in the U.S., shipping is really expensive since it is shipped from Europe. Anyone got any ideas? Let me know. Thanks.

I think that regular basting thread (available on Amazon) should do the trick. It's meant to be broken easily. The other stuff may prove harder to run down.

So I found the best type of thread to use for this routine is italian basting thread such as the one being sold here: https://www.macculloch-wallis.co.uk/p/97......g-thread the thread is just thick enough, just the right color, and easy enough to break. But dang, if you don’t live in Europe, shipping is £25 or about $30

Does anyone know how many meters of thread is included in one spool of the special thread from Javi’s website?
Ok so about 75 to 80 meters of thread is in one spool. |

As a quick fix unravel the thread from standard cotton magicians rope and your good to go.
