For Seth and Bowers, why do you think it is that good? Not looking for method, just genuinely interested in how it looks and plays to a spectator. It does seem like more of a one on one. I am looking for reasons to get it. Give me some. I no longer purchase indiscriminately and need to feel I would use use. Still on the fence, but leaning.

I have it. I would say it’s as good as it sounds. That is it’s really fooling. I’m not being a jerk when I say whether it is entertaining is up to you and not every trick will be entertaining in everyone’s hands. Even with good tricks and good performers. I’m not big on talking people into purchases but I think its reasonable to ask things like “does an effect play as described, is practicall for strolling, how is reset and angles, etc. at any rate this effect gets a positive reviews in all those respects. I would mention although it could be repeated with different outcome. I would not repeat it multiple times for the same person.

Thanks for this, Xcath1. I am now fully convinced of it's worth. The only drawback seems to be that it seems basically a one on one and I don't know if I need any more of those. Still thinking about it and am glad that many are enjoying it.

From the description that seems to be well covered in the premise for the demonstration. I don't see that as a problem.

It is well covered and it isn’t a problem. It might be if you did the trick many times for the same person.

Hi Aligator.
I'm not entirely sure what you mean by "one on one". This is easily fine for a group of people to watch, but yes, it does involve only one participant - like pretty much all Mental Die routines. I mean that in the friendliest way. As for the companion volume to this, I am still trying to work out the problem on my site's cart system. Again, it's working for some people and not for others. I've been having a heck of a time trying to figure out what the issue is. The current new solution I'm trying is taking me some time for me to configure properly and I'm not sure how much longer it's going to take to get implemented. I'm not a web guy at all and had to learn all this stuff all on my own and am still in the learning process. All I can say is that it will be "soon". Apologies to those who are waiting for the delay. |

But I wouldn't do it more than twice just to play it safe. Thanks for chiming in on the thread too. I'm happy to hear that you're pleased with the effect and hope you'll enjoy it for years to come. The companion volume offers a number of different routines that also use two dice and are very, very good. One of them is an exceptionally strong new handling for Max Maven's "PrediXion" that I think is going to be a huge hit with a lot of folks. I'm sure that the combined versatility in effects and routines will be good reason to keep a pair of dice handy for many years to come - or at least, I hope so. |

Here's a disclaimer for everyone: I am friends with Sudo. We chat all the time, and it was in one of these conversations that he said to me "Let me demonstrate some of the things inside Kaleidoscopic Die-Mensions" (The companion to Die-Mentional). I still haven't read the PDF, I don't know what the price will be, and the only delay is being caused by the cart system on his website. Like he has already said on here, it probably won't get released until that's fixed. Here are my thoughts:
Im pretty show he demoed and explained most of the stuff on the PDF, and I personally prefer this stuff more to the original Die-mentional. It's the same principle, but applied very differently. Firstly: Double Double prediXion: this is Sudo's take on Max Mavens excellent routine. He couldn't performed directly for me, but had me play along. About half way through the routine I vividly remember saying "oh man, genius" (he had me set it up so I could see how it was playing out as it was going on). Its a really smart application of the principle, and dare I say it a more logical way of doing the effect then the original prediXion. What I liked about while talking on video to Sudo were the themes that were build into the method, allowing for a presentation to naturally come from it, those themes being chance, choice, and destiny. At this point we got side tracked and started talking about how good Maven is and was, and we debated the prediciton itself... and we both agreed Max had basically got it right first time round. And then he said "oh you don't need to perform this as a variation of prediXion" and proceeded to show me a slight twist in the procedure... and this got me real excited. I don't know if everyone else will, but this twist basically allows for Jazz magic/mentalism in its best form. I won't say much else, but it can be applied to memdeck work and impromptu situations and you can really !@#$ with peoples heads. Before detailing my performances with laymen, I'll tell you that Sudo provided me with two presentations he had used in the past. Both of them awesome, dark, suspenseful, and excellent uses of the principle.. but I wouldn't use either. Mystery performers will likely use them. I've performed Die mentional on my girlfriend dozens of times now, just so I could get everything locked in place mentally. Two nights ago I performed Double Double prediXion on her (in the hopes she would give me honest feedback from a laymens perspective), and her response after the routine was "fantastic, way better this way.. I like this so much more than you telling me the dice numbers".. so there you go. Die-mentional has its place for sure, but this has more applications for my performance style. Yesterday a few more things occurred to me.. and I decided to play with the idea of jazzing in performance. I did it on two people last night at a party and wow this idea rocks. To give you a comparison, this principle (depending on how you use it and play with it) can feel derren brown-esque, it can give you the feeling of stepping into Max Mavens shoes, and if you take it and jazz, it will totally feel like something Asi Wind would do (my preference). My ultimate goal is to use this in conjunction with memdeck work. Next up; Acumen: This is Sudo's four phase routine that gets more impossible at each step, it combines the original die-mentional reveal (with the added benefit of the spec never revealing the total) and ends with his variation of prediXion... this isn't just a routine, this a 15 minute close up/parlour set. I can't properly give you gives thoughts on this, because I haven't performed it yet, and I'd need to see the PDF again to understand all of the steps. If you liked die-mentional, and like what you have read above with my thoughts on PrediXion.. I'm sure you will love this. It's a great set, and it's modular, so you can jump in (or out) of it at any stage. You will benefit from this release if you have quite a bit of experience already, as you can apply all sorts of concepts to the work given here and fly with it. That's certainly what I've done. As always, I'd recommend waiting for more reviews if your unsure. I never blindly trust reviews that have the "I'm friends with" tag at the beginning.. there always an inherent bias that comes with it. Hopefully you guys won't be waiting too much longer for more reviews (it should be out very soon). |

I finally got a chance to see the beast and have it performed on me.
Sudo blew my mind. When the end moment comes, there’s just really no words to explain how gobsmacking it is. It just doesn’t seem possible for him to know the numbers on the dice. And yet, he IMMEDIATELY divines them. It’s kind of nuts. The method is brilliant. Absolutely brilliant and 100% surefire. I learned it in the wee hours of the night last night, but I think I’ve already gotten it down. It’s actully very logical once you wrap your head around the few core principles being used. I also got to witness kismet which will be his next release in this little series. It was very effective as well and certainly free and above board from beginning to end. I still prefer Mental Di-Mensional, but the effects are totally different and could be done back to back without anyone realizing they have some similarities in method. Wonderful thinking as always from Sudo. You won’t be disappointed with this. This is something I’ll have in the back of my head for those moments when the time comes. And I’m thinking of including it in my table hopping/mix and mingle set. Madison |

To everyone else, there has been some re-structuring to the Kaleidoscope release for reasons which will be explained when I post about it again very shortly. I believe I have the website fixed now - I hope. Apologies again for the wait, but as you can see from some of the posts above...this material is actually all assembled, there's just been a few considerations to tackle with this release. I'll be back very soon with more news. Thanks for all the kind words and thoughts. |
