Could anyone tell me where I could find a copy of Phil Goldstein's "Four Sided Triangle" in the UK?! Or any other good sources of info on pre-show work!

I thought it was only published in his colored books of mentalism? Pre show work...Richard Mark has some excellent ideas in MAGICK. Mark Strivings has a booklet out Before the Curtain Rises. Ted Karmilovich and Ross Johnson also have some wonderful ideas in MAGICK.

It's in his Red Book of Mentalism, out of print and very difficult to find. (I'm not selling my set!)

The Four Sided Triangle is fantastic!! Very clear! Very easy! Pure mentalism... I am not the greatest Maven fan but I love this effect!

This is my favorite Maven trick. I have all three of his color books and I managed to get them signed a few years ago. The Four Triangle Effect is alarmingly simple and extremely deceptive. Smile The "lady" that thinks of the card is the key.

I believe there are five. Blue, Red, Green Yellow and Violet.

If you want to see a GREAT application to the Four Sided Triangle, see Bill Goldman's Bar & Grill #1 with an effect called Lemonade. He has nailed many magicians with this, and opened his act in front of a 2000 strong audience with this.

He sells it from his web site, not sure of the URL. A search with Google should find it.

Cheers,
Tom

Effect very briefly:

Two spectators bought on stage.
One shuffled a deck and selected a card prior to performance, and placed in in his pocket sight unseen.
The other spec thinks of a card (also prior to performance), not telling anyone.

On stage...
The thought card is named.
Other spec takes his hidden card form his pocket.
They match!

This is very brief description without finesse and double-speak which is very good. It comes across as very minimalist in performance (which it is), not a card effect, but a mind coincidence thing because the audience believes the spectator supplied his own cards and the other spectator thought of any card without telling anyone.

Thank you for the info. I could never have guessed that effect from its title.

It is a generic effect!!! You don't have to use cards and you can adapt it to your ideas, style and approach!

Four Sided Triangle is.
Lemonade isn't.

Which one are we talking about?
