The one thing that prevents this from being used close-up and to be left as a display in the end is the use of_________. I believe with a small effort this weekness can be replaced with one of the other methods. I don’t believe it adds in any way and truly only detracts. Please see my comments from page 11 for my full review after performing.

A lot of talk about whether this is magic or not. I think people are confused about what audiences want. They want ENTERTAINMENT AND WONDER. Acrobatics is magical. This is entertaining, full of wonder, and VERY magical. I love it.

Well so far I opened the packing box and pulled out the actual product box. I left it on the counter. I'm on my way to Delaware... I know, who goes there. When I get back on Tuesday I'm going to open balance the rest of the way. I've never done this with a trick before. 😂

Reminds me a bit of this circus balancing act, which I think is stronger. Anyone know the name? I know it's been franchised a bit, but not sure how. Anyone with deets on that? Thanks

Oops... sorry, looks like that's already been presented. But still, my questions are open.

Interesting, too... the act has been sold and is being performed in various circus around the world and on television, etc., but it's been done in a very limited fashion. I think it's too bad that that doesn't happen more in magic, too...

How do you end this routine?
It’s only a closer effect? Thanks |

It would certainly work best as a closer and as a stage effect as well imo. Or at least in a large room where audience members would not be milling around afterwards.

Saw this yesterday performed live & although it is very different & for the right event I COULD use it, I will not get it.
Not saying that it isn't good though. It's just that it isn't for me. Mike Donoghue |

I have seen a few video demos of Balance now and I believe some of them jjust telegraph the method somewhat.
If when you are attaching each item and everything is moving, that is not good. You have to make sure everything UNDER the item you are adding does not move otherwise it is a big tell that they are all connected. This is SO important! When you add the pencil, you should be supporting the underside of the head of the toothbrush with your other hand and then slowly take away both hands once balanced. When you are adding the case, you should be supporting the underside of the toothbrush again and then slowly take away both hands once balanced. When adding the crayon case, you should be supporting the underside of the card case with your other hand and then slowly take away both hands once balanced. When adding the crayon, you should carefully support the underside of the flap of the crayon case with your other hand and then slowly take away both hands once balanced. Just imagine you were doing it foe real and replicate those actions.

I have done this in both parlor and with in 3 feet of people. And taken it apart at the end. If you do it correctly it is very sweet.
I however assemble the tower with 2 bottles at the bottom supporting the tooth brush. I could not find a matching bottle to the one shipped with the product. Therefore I purchased an 8 pack and just replaced the lid with the one that shipped. It looks like I'm taking 2 new bottles out of the bundle when starting. Then at the end remove 1 of the bottles while "supporting" the tooth brush with a finger. Then remove my finger and everyone is floored. I then disassemble the tower as described in the video instructions so I can then close with an audience member levitation on the table I just assembled the balance effect. |

Google is getting way top good at finding information for magicians who want to be taken seriously too use magic tricks from the major magic dealers.
Just Googled "Balance toothbrush magic" and game directly to several sites and videos promoting "Balance by Joshua Jay" for 200$. "Oh cool Mr.magic, so you bought this toy for 200$? Cool trick dude." |

Unpacking this trick is a pleasure, it's an Apple moment ^^
The items are well designed and made, I wish the crayon box was a bit more sturdy and "good" looking. But if the aim is to have a crayon box bought for 20 cents, it's really well done. I think this is a very specific trick which can be done in very specific places but if you have a need for it, I don't think you'll be disappointed by the methodS and the props
