Is Hoffman’s “Modern Magic” still worth reading?

I think all the classics are usually worth reading. If only to understand where the skills and deceptions came from.

It is a great read! I was fortunate to have been given a vintage copy of Modern Magic by a neighbor when I was a young teenage magician. Was a great help to me in my early stages. Unfortunately I lost that copy somehow in my early college days. Recently bought a vintage copy for a good price on abebooks as I consider it a "must have" in a magic library.

The book still has useful material, plus the sections less practical are still a great read for historical interest (such as illusions, apparatus, and other gimmicks).

I purchased a delightful copy from Tom Ransom many years ago.
