Hello Steve:
Recently I posted a question on Genii Forum basically asking if a collector of magic had a "duty" to dispose of his duplicates. I mentioned David Copperfield as an example, and stated my opinion that he owed no duty to sell off his duplicates -- that he was free to keep his stuff bought with hard-earned money, that I wasn't trying to attack him, etc. There were no curse words, no disrespect, no flaming language. It was all sincere and civil, take my word for it. King Richard (aka Chief Genii) took exception to the topic and called it ridiculous and closed the thread. Would such a topic meet with the same reaction by the moderators on this board? P.S. A quick glance of the menu did not yield any magic history category, which I think is an important part of magic. Is there such a topic here (maybe I misssed it in my scan)? If not, I think it might be a good one to add. |

A MAGIC HISTORY forum has been suggested in the past and we will in fact be adding such a forum sometime this year.
In the meantime, such a subjective subject as the one you mention above might best be posted in our Food for Thought forum or perhaps in our Oldies...but goodies forum, but not in both. Hope this helps.
