Hey sorry to keep filling the boards with plea's for help!
I just wanted to know that (in the case of suggestion routines/waking hypnosis) If the person knows what you are going to attempt to do before you do it will it make it harder to achieve success?? More specifically, I have done quite a few ahnd locking tests and sticking hands to the table etc.... But then by word of mouth what I do spreads and I have people coming up to me asking me to stick their hand to the table. Now I believe that most of the time they are people who genuinley want to see and not to challange it. Will it make it harder for me to make it work with them??? Also if someone who is slightly skeptical about it and has an air about him that says that he doesn't believe it can be done will it work with him too??? Cheers again folks!!! |

It will make it easier if they are genuine. If they are trying to challenge you it will make it more difficult. Your job is to select the ones that genuine. telling someone what you are going to do increases the chance of it happening. a) They mentally rehearse it happening. b)Their expectations are increased..

I thought about this with RGM.
Would it be better to flash the card, patter and THEN say you are going to get them to forget their card...? I know my success rate has been low, most likely because of point a) mentioned by Shrink, but the premise of this effect is so appealing I feel really keen to stick with it. I am losing spirit for it though... Carlo |

Carlo, don't give it up.
RGM is a supper routine, the concept is so out there I have never had a problem with it, for two reasons, I work the routine around the out, I am to produce the out as the end result if the force works ( and it does about 80% for me) then take the credit for a supper bit of mind control. I think, and reiterate something written in another thread on forcing, that the greater success comes when you loose the need to succeed, you can then relax and perform the magic without worrying that your look dumb when it all goes wrong. keep trying at it..
the road we travel is lined with beauty but as with all roads, mind the pot holes...

Its worth being aware that what you hold in your mind you attract....ie you attract your fears!

123,
It doesn't matter if people know what you're going to do. As a matter of fact, teaching people (by showing them what to do) how to succeed at suggestibility tests actually increases suggestibility (assuming they're somewhat suggestible to begin with). And you must be totally confident. If your reputation spreads, you have to have the confidence that says "this works all the time, irrespective of who you are or what you think." It sounds a bit arrogant, but it really comes across. Best, James. |
