If it requires a receptacle absolutely, then I'm out. I understand Dominic's point, but he is deliberately side-stepping the question. I've been in this art 39 years and I have performed literally thousands of hours during those years for live audiences in paid environments. I've also been a magic-dealer in a brick and mortar shop. If someone wanted to buy this from me and had the same simple question I have - I'd give them a simple "yes" or "no" answer. I don't get why this is so hard to answer. Again, I'm asking because I have a specific use in mind.

While I don't know the method.... I can say that using a cup, bowl, etc. will always increase the odds close to 100% for many gaff dice.
The bowl also has an advantage of not having people roll cubes all over the place, on the floor etc. Having a confined rolling area makes sense for magic.

Such dice was on the market from many years (and usually their price is 5-10 usd). It’s hard to believe that this is different method. As I said before - I have very similar die which can force all of the numbers which you want and works like this. The problem is that you can not trust... let say 2-3 out of 10 times the number is not what you want. It is very strange that some people here wrote that 100 percent hit is not something important. If you are professional magician and your act is based on that spectator shoud choose the exact number you can not risk to fail at any time and you will use another way. How is possible a good professional to fail every third time!!??
So trying to not reveal the secret, the other similar dice (like mine) which are not magnetic uses a method with which you can choose which number between 1 to 6 you want to force and you can prepare the die for few seconds (well better not in front of the spectator but you can do it even in front of their eyes too if really need this) and most of the times it’s working. But “most of the time” is not good option for professional magicians. That’s why I never use my die and it is somewhere in my house from years... For example - with magnetic die you CAN be 100 percent sure because the power is more strong than just gravity (but it can not change the forcing number and it will be always the same number), so let we not use an empty words that this is not possible or that it is not important to trust our props 100 percent... (well of course there is always some risk but you understand what I mean). So if somebody have this die in real, let he tell us IS this die better than other similar (probably with same principle) dice on the market and how it is better? How trustable it is? Because if it fail 2-3 out of 10 times, it is useless (other 5 usd price dice are with this range in my experience).

If it can, then I'll get this because I have a specific use in mind. If no, then I won't because there's no possible way I can justify the receptacle for what I have in mind. I have no interest in getting this as a toy. I have exact needs. To not answer this simple question when there's a legitimate customer asking a legitimate and fair question is absurd. I don't know why I'm even bothering. The answer is already clear. I just don't appreciate the song and dance. |

Failure to answer questions usually results in more lost sales than telling someone directly that the effect is simply not for him. When I have doubts about the marketing that spills over into how I feel about the effect. For now, this is one to avoid imo until proven otheewise. A flood of positive reviews from real purchasers will of course change my mind. And also, the MOM pricing is ridiculously high.

I hope I'm wrong but isn't this the dice that's been sold for many years cheaply in the far east that simply contains a glycerin type substance that if you rest it for a few seconds on the number you require the glycerin settles to the opposite side effectively making a loaded dice.
If you then let it rest on another number for a few seconds it then becomes loaded to that new number etc. I hope this makes sense? If it isn't that then I can achieve exactly what is being demonstrated here with the dice I'm describing. I'll try and locate mine and find a link to it too. |

That's the one Hektor thanks.
You can do everything with this cheap dice that you can with Winner's Dice. |

Exactly. I'm not digging for the method because I'm far past that stage in this art. As an artist, I have a specific need. I just wanted to know if this would fit that need. I would have never not answered a simple question like this from a customer when I was a brick and mortar dealer. The price doesn't concern me one bit. I'm happy to pay whatever it costs if it fits my needs. Sadly though, the answer here is obvious. It's not as though my question tips the method.

Hi Sudo
If you buy the dice I've mentioned you do not need a receptacle and can force any number from 1-6 easily. Save yourself some money. I've owned one of these for years and it works perfectly. Never fails and is so easy to use. |

I know, I have it. But it is not trustable- 2-3 times out of 10, the number is not what we want. All other looks same. That’s wahy I ask how this new and 10 times more expensive dice differ and how trustable it is.
If somehow it is improved and can give us let say 98-100 percent hit, I will be happy to buy it.

Sudo, IanB, it’s hard to believe that this mentioned die can give you good enough hit score. Well most of the time it really lands on the correct side, but many times it fails... So I do not recommend if you want to use it for serious magic routine.
I hope that this new die is better, but... will wait some real reviews.

My pleasure Sudo
Simply can't see what the fuss is about with Winners Dice and I'm gobsmacked that other "knowledgeable" people on this post don't know of the version I refer to. It's been around for many years. Dealers jumping on the all to familiar bandwagon. |
