This looks like a very clean and expensive version of Silent treatment. The audience names ANY playing card and it is inside your mouth behind a layer of duct tape.

Ummmmm don’t find it entertaining. You can either talk clearly or you can’t. Stick with one or the other—- as far as the effect, wasn’t for me.

Hi Guys,
Since creating the original of The Silent Treatment, I have wanted to produce a stage version. There are far more factors involved than in close-up or parlour which has made it very difficult to do. I have been working on a stage version over the last 2 years for which Garrett Thomas made a brilliant suggestion that literally takes it to another level! It may be quite some time off being available, maybe late into 2019, but it is in the works. It will be something very special indeed! One thing remains the same with all my versions of The Silent Treatment: there is a reason the performer is not talking. That reason is there is a card in the mouth. That simple fact is what resonates with audiences and creates a beautifully rounded routine.

If you can split cards or have Blakes Invisible Card you should be able to do this just by watching the performance.
I can't see why as the load is so obvious. |

I love how he acts like he is pain when he pulls off the tape when it's not contacting skin, just more tape.

Jon combined the 2 things. It doesn't mean that anyone else who does is ripping him off. I don't particularly like Blake's routine, but it's not a rip off. |

And although it's fun, I want to talk/bounce off the audience at the start - so wouldn't be of any interest to me. It may be ok if you are not opening and you know the audience will be worked/warmed up... but if you are going on cold - and they haven't bought tickets to come and see you [i.e. they don't know / love you before you start] - it would be too risky to not be able to have more freedom to play the room - at the start of your set Maybe if you have an interval - you could open the second part with this [?] |
