Along time ago I found this routine, but can't find my instructions.
Here's what I remember:
Start with 4 aces on the top.
The deck is cut with the top portion moved forward. Another cut leaves 2 packs 1
to the left and right.
The top cards then appear to be aces???? That's where I've lost the method.
I think a couple of double lifts of the top stack creates the illusion.

Can anyone point me in the right direction?

There are many Ace Cutting sequences that look similar. None that I know use doubles with the exception of David Williamson's and the ones using palm steals.
I'd check out Denis Behr's index. Some effects have methodological summaries.
