So with this recent series by Penguin we had Docc revisiting some Annemann stuff, and Osterlind revisiting some Phantini material. Im not sure if the Legacy series is something the intend to continue with, or if its limited to mentalism.
But for the fun of it, who would you like to see resurrected? Bob Nelson, and Basil Horowitz comes to mind... All the best, Dan |

Yeah Basil would be great, if they do, they should ask Andy nyman to do it as they were good friends..

Big Basil fan. Would love to see some of his material performed.
Which reminds me....I have the transcripts made from Basil's audio recordings for a last, unpublished, book. Really need to pull my finger out and get these written up so someone can publish them. |

His interaction with the small audience that was present was very entertaining. The act was as much about Docc Hillford as it was the effects he was performing. He offers some sage advice regarding the performing of mentalism that is bound to resonate with most viewers. I would recommend it.

It is a good thing to look back at the history for magic/mentalism.

FYI, Docc's "Annemann's Legacy" video is OUTSTANDING! Well worth the $40 sale price or $50 full price.
Look, not a single method was new to me, it's definitely not about that... In a few routines, I would swap out methods. What it is about is taking some great "old" routines and turning them into highly fun, entertaining, contemporary, and baffling demonstrations. For $40, you have the structure and material - solid material - for an entire 30-40 minute act. Docc is a spectacular teacher and the tips and insights he provides on staging, performance and methodological subtleties is rare and precious advice. Really highly recommended. |
