Doc Hilford was the first chap to came up with that notion.
Check out his 1995 video Real Mind Reading. The other guy just ripped him of. |

I haven't seen Real Mind Reading, so I can't comment on that, but I find the verbal card forces in the Devil's Picturebook most reliable.

I to interested in building my knowledge on verbal forces. I have been toying with the idea of purchasing Derrens book or one of them, does he cover verbal forces and the techniques of lingustic structure needed to make them work. The technical side of the structure is more what I am after as opposed to effect/routines.
Or if anyone can recomend other reading material on this matter would be greatfull PS have got, All L Jermays work, Banacheks but not Kneppers.

Glenn,
'Pure Effect' covers three pretty reliable forces in some detail. However, you may find it more useful to see Derren actually perform them on his video 'The Devil's Picturebook'; it will give you more a sense of the timing, gestures, and emphasis needed to make these things work. Best of luck, Stephen

Derren doesn't cover the 'lingustic structure' etc. but what he gives you is a few verbal forces and explains basicly why he says something or does a something in a certan way.
The forces are the 3D (as seen on tv ), JC (which works scarly well) and 'hidden' in another effect is a force for 7H. He also speaks a little about the QH as a popular choice among women and how you can help with its selection. The infomation he gives you, plus the books you mention above and a little thought and imagination you can get some good results. Hope this helps. Alex.

How embarrassing is this, I can get through his password, I don't and have never done any form of card work, it just isn't something that has ever appealed to me. I though I knew what it was but alas I am obviously incorrect.
As far as I am concerned he could be asking a question on meta physics (or maybe he is). I will probable get thrown out of the community now for being a mental imbecile. my apologies. any other routs to get DPB.. thanks Glenn

Oohh - be wary of the ebay route...
I saw a copy of DPB go for £400. That's quids, not dollars! Outragous.

I typed a whole bunch of variations on the wrong track entirely, and just got frustrated. Then I took a step back, took a short breather, and tried again. I got it right. It's absolutely amazing how long I can try variants of an incorrect solution, and accomplish nothing but increasing my blood pressure!
I formerly ran a site of links to help Canadian magicians, magicinfo.ca, but I retired it in 2022.
