Blocking is a theatrical term. In simple terms it is the exact placement of the performers and sometimes the props onstage. Where they stand, which way they face, their movements, directions, exits, and upstaging. It is a very improtant tool in producing a professional performance of any kind.

Does this help?

Just a note...

If you are working a stage with larger effects systems (big expensive boxes or things that look as such...) "Blocking" can include some interesting operational technique elements e.g. the use of lighting and shadow for "concealing/blocking" angle concerns, etc.

Working with set pieces, costumes, etc. you, as the illusionist, can create some rarely explored advantages via shadow casts and knowing how to light, which filters to use, etc. It's worth a short course in technical theater to learn more about.... failing that, it's worth a year or two on the road with a big show.

Best of luck!
