Hey guys,
So what is Yoke? It is a code of some sort that you pass on to your assistant, accomplice, friend, without anyone suspecting a thing, and without you saying a word. I learned this about 2 weeks ago and on my flight to Magi-Fest I read it on my phone a few times. At the convention, I performed it for a few guys at the bar, with a friend, and they had no clue. It is foolproof, and your accomplice can learn the code in about 5 minutes, very easy. Fraser goes over everything you need, and all the details are explained. The final night of the convention I performed it for some other people before checking out, and it was really clean. Once you learn the principle, you can adapt it anyway you can to any of your existing routines. I use it as a think a card type effect, and it is killing. Upon returning, I have performed it a few more times and nobody suspected a thing. Good stuff. This is nothing like Speakeasy, its actually simpler than that, plus you don't even have to talk. Just had the time to read it as well! And I'm 100% with your review. Failproof, easy to understand, undectetable and you can actually use it for different things! Imagine using it with some business cards and then proceed as a drawing duplication with your participant, It's powerful!

To be honest: I think that there are a lot of actions and movements in this performance that look a little bit artificial and not really justified. At least on camera. But I am pretty sure they'll fly by a lay audience in an informal situation.
Also I feel for the waiter who obviously was nervous about getting into problems for watching card tricks instead of working and continued to play along just because he didn't want to be unpolite to his customers. He seemed to feel quite uncomfortable the longer it took. Not a very good promo video in my opinion. |
