Here's a little challenge/question:

If you had to perform on a moments notice, and the ONLY thing on you or the spectator was ONE lousy, single buck, how long could you go on for? How many effects do you know with just a dollar? Let us assume that you had ZERO, or at the very least, a bare minimum of time for set up and preparation. (You could excuse your self to run to the rest room, and set something up there, but that's all. Stay within those parameters for the sake of this thread, please)

Anmway, here's is what I can think of, and in fact, what I have often used myself to get out of a pinch:

Suspended funds: (Dan Harlan) A buck is folded in half and balanced on the tip of your finger.

Topsy Turvey George: (I don't know if that is the official name of the effect) Anyways, this is the one whereGeorge mysteriously turns upside down, and then rightside up. The old gag, we all know it. Still a cute effect in the right time and place for the right people.

Dining On dollars: Picked this up from an Ammar tape. You tear the head off of george, and "eat it" (Sorry Weird Al), and magically restore it in a blink.

Presedential Expression (Dan Harlan):
A couple simple folds in the bill cause George to either smile or frown at your whim

Wonderland Bill: Sorry, don't remember the creators name, but if you had time for a few folds, you could set up this effect where a Dollar held at your fingertips and also held by the specator's hands, impossibly turns backwards, and then forwards while they are still gripping it

Origami Folds: There are myriads of these one could learn, although they are not considered magic tricks per say, the quicker less complicated folds, such as the flapping butterfly, could provide some entertainment and diversion

Did I cover it all, or are there other ones you use that you can share?

That would work. Especially to end the set. Do you know a way to accomplish it with just the buck and your bare hands and a little wit?

Oh...I DO like this thread....

One dollar eh?

Produce the dollar, borrow a pen from the spectator, do Ben Morris-Rains SMUPTB, maybe do a Center Tear, and vanish it.

If you are from Canada,

You can do a whole host of productions and vanishes with a coin. Down palm, back palms, loonie from the ear, etc.

Well, if you only get a dollar from them, (I'm sure you might have a buck on you too.) You could excuse yourself to the bathroom and do Scotty York's Bill in cigarette.

I think Paul Gernter or Derek Dingle had one with out the dupe bill, so that could be done.

With JUST a dollar and NOTHING else:

The ones you've already mentioned, and

Auditory illusion ripping and restoring with a Jay Sankey handling that allows you to display two "separate" balled-up pieces.

Roll it up for cigarette manipulation stuff: Vanish, produce, up the nose out the mouth, behind the ear, etc.

Make a Prosperity Ring for the person (Impromptu Videos) as a gift.

Robert Neale's Bunny Bill

One to Five (Mindbogglers V2) gag of changing a dollar into a five with no gimmick or switch.

Invisible Chickenwire (Mindbogglers V2) paperfolding stunt that is actually quite magical if done quickly behind the back. You can cover the surface of a piece of paper (or a dollar) with hexagonal creases very quickly.

My unpublished impromptu serial number divination. Sorry, but you asked what I'd do and that's what I do!

Now, if I can add another bill or single object, then I have a whole act!

Well Dan, I thought about the possibility of using two or more bills, but for this thread, I wanted to keep it as challenging as possible. You know, kinda like if a person is in the wilderness on a survival test, and they give you a little safety pin, or a book of matches, and that's all.. Then they send you out for a few days to see what you can do to survive with that bare minimum.

The "ultimate challenge", know what I mean?

I am surprised though at the things Dan has listed that I wasn't aware of, and I will DEFINITELY be looking up! I am learning a lot here from Dan, as well as the other posts.

Can feel my magical mind "expanding" with the dizzying possibilities allready.

You guys rock, man!
