Profile of Scott Wells
This week we delve into a mystery that is nearly 100 year old: who was the real person who wrote "Expert At The Card Table"? The author gave his name as S.W. Erdnase but clearly it is believed to be a pen name for someone who wanted his real identity kept a secret. But why?

That is just one of the questions that research detectives like Richard Hatch is trying to find out. This week on the podcast, Richard talks about the formation of his book selling company "H&R Magic Books" plus some other interesting background on some of the books he has translated and authored. But the real story this week is his relentless pursuit of finding out who the real person behind the book that influenced Dai Vernon and generations of other magicians.

You can watch a video of Richard performing a little magic in a local news clip, see some photos of people discussed in this week's podcast (i.e. Walter Graham, Karl Fulves and Hofzinser), listen online to the podcast, and download the MP3 file at: https://www.themagicwordpodcast.com/scot......part-one
