The Blurb:
The Balls in the Net is a classic piece of sleight of hand that is suitable for any condition. This can be performed close-up, parlor style, on the street or on the grandest of stages. Scott performs this routine for you in front of 800 theater goers and this eight-minute routine is jam packed with laughter and moments of jaw dropping astonishment. You receive all the professional props that Scott uses in the effect, along with a full video training session with Scott as he explains all the ins and outs of this easy-to-master miracle. Plus, you will learn Scott's close-up walk-around Three Ball Routine where the ball vanishes and reappears in the spectator's hand. Also, you'll learn his Bill in Lemon ending to the Balls in the Net that can be used as an extra "kicker" to the base routine if you like. http://scottalexander.bigcartel.com/product/amazeballz I reached out to Scott for further details and he informed, "It's a 5-phase routine that can be cut and pasted to any length." He also said that it was suitable for all performing conditions: close-up, parlor, or stage. Here's how he explained the routine: "The balls travel from hand to hand twice, then pocket to hands twice. Then vanish from the hands completely." I do like the idea of using a net because it involves at least two spectators and looks visually interesting. Especially if you were working at a strolling gig. The routine is also something different and could be a nice change of pace. The price is $99.95, but you're obviously paying for Scott's polished routine since the props would seem to be rather inexpensive. |

I bought mine a few weeks ago. Should be seeing it soon. I purchased his silk thing and love it.

Seem's a bit pricey for what it is especially when you can learn the effect via the commercial magic of Johnny Thompson for way less money.

Color of Mystery is a bunch of cheap props for sure probably $25 worth. But I never would have thought to use them the way scott did and the routine is solid. You really can carry it in your pocket and use for closeup and stage. Everything is laid out. Resets instantly. I use a big $100 silk instead of the rainbow for the finally.
As for Balls same thing I have many here and there 3 ball routines, danny archer, RIP Aldo, Bob Sheets, and others but I like the structure Scott provides with the product. So there you go. Remember you don't pay the surgeon for simply cutting.... |

About twenty years ago, Alexander de Cova published his "Ball Games" routine (The Balls in the Net Routine) in Germany (in german language) on his "Stand Up Routines N°5" VHS (Video).
A very nice and entertaining routine. I can not describe the complete routine so easily, you have to see his performance. A really nice routine (like all the other stuff from Alexander, he's a genius anyway). At the end of the routine, all three balls in his hand disappear completely and suddenly he has a lemon in his hand. Anyone who wants to see Alexander's "Ball Games" performance video can write me the PM. |

I have it - hope this helps
INCLUDED: 41 minute video - full 10 minute stage routine included. (yes, 10 minutes!) 4 small "palmable balls" they remind me of the nerf round ammunition crossed with a gumball machine bouncy ball. 1 black mesh net Nothing is gimmicked or specially made in any way - these are all normal examinable props. MY THOUGHTS: It's basically a cups n balls routine without cups and the net substitutes as a "table" so the items don't roll away. |

Great routine complete with jokes and interesting pieces of information along the way used as misdirection.
Close up stage parlor, etc. You can perform it without the net as well. Use someone's hands. You could do some moves without Annette or hands as well. Very flexible. |

Good review. That's what it is. Ok if I walked in a magic shop and the guy wanted to charge me $100 for 4 balls and a net I'd tell him to go to h e double hockey sticks. But I would spend that much for a pro who I'm familiar withs routine. Yes.
Scott is saying hey here is my 3 ball routine I think it's worth this much. If you do buy it if not buy 4 balls and a net and make your own. |

As far as practicing there is really only a few moves. Once you have them down you use them in a few different ways. It's like linking rings there are only two moves link on and link off.

I couldn't see any originality in the trailer, in fact, even worse just a load of old stock lines.
But I suppose if you need to 'buy someone else's routine' and you have the money it is a good choice. |

I don’t own this but they generally will purposely avoid showing any originality because that is what you are paying for.

Having now seen the trailer as much as I really like Scott and his magic you would have to have more money that sense to pay that price when you can get Johnny Thompson's commercial magic dvd volume 1 and learn the same effect plus a bunch of others for next to nothing.
