I was sent something that has helped me over the years with writing. If you want to write as well as I do, always follow these simple rules.

1) Avoid Alliteration. Always.
2) Prepositions are not words to end sentences with.
3) Avoid cliches like the plague. They are old hat.
4) Comparisons are as bad as cliches.
5) Be more or less specific.
6) Writes should never generalize.
Seven) Be consistent.
8) Don't be redundant; don't use more words than necessary; it is highly superfluous.
9) Who needs rhetorical questions?
10) Exaggeration is a billion times worse than understatement.

This is the start. Get these 10 down and then you are on the road to writing posts as clearly as I do!

YOU'RE WELCOME!

I saw this on Facebook the other day Smile
I still recall the day I met Beaker from the Muppets. He said to me "Meep, meep, mee mee mee Meep!", and that has made all the difference.

I saw it in my 9th grade English teachers class in 1983

It has made the rounds and I CERTAINLY never claimed it was original LOL.

I've have a lot of books on creative writing and the overall process.

When I saw this on FB I thought it was something new coming out until I read it.

The cut and dry case of cut and paste

By Sir Arthur Ignatius Conan Doyle

Can we deduce that Sherlock Holmes is alive and well?
If there is a single truth about Magic, it is that nothing on earth so efficiently evades it.
