Hey guys,
So update: There are 2 pieces from Mavoch that I have been performing, at first DOS was my favorite piece, but something else has taken its place from this same release, it is called Pin My Thoughts. Essentially it is a spectator as a mind reader, but the impact that it generates is strong. The combination and layered methods produce a finished piece that is worthy to be called Majestic. If you like Propless mentalism, methods, layered methods, and actually using multiple tools to achieve a set result, this is for you. I took advice long ago from Peter Turner in which he said.....it doesn't matter how many effects you know, the key is hidden within the principles, that with those principles will allow you to create a myriad of effects based on those principles. Those principles will always be with you, and you can apply them in different scenarios and ways. I feel this book is a book of principles that you can read, appreciate, add some to your toolbox, gain more knowledge while doing so, and throw away those that don't interest you, and apply the principles that do appeal to you, much like the way I have been applying DOS and Pin My Thoughts. I guarantee that you will get something out of this, even if it is at least 1 principle, 1 idea, 1 effect, 1 solution. There is another creator called Luke Turner that also came up with another book called Pin Project, which I have also studied, and that review will come shortly, so you can see the differences between this and that release. I cannot choose one, because they are both very different and both equally stunning. If I can take away anything from reading Ori Aschers Mavoch and Luke Turner's Pin Project, is that these both young guys are giving you the necessary tools and principles, forget the effects, it is the principles behind them that matter. Both books compliment each other equally well, you cannot go wrong with either. Both guys are geniuses for coming up with the material, and they have both gotten the praise they deserved from respected creators. Review coming shortly for Pin Project, which by the way Ori Ascher also loved! Our art is being pushed forward by people like Ori and Luke, where do we go from here? Alex Alejandro

I'm greatful for your review, Alex. It shows that you captured my intentions with this release, which makes me very happy.
Scott, Steve has nothing to do with this being released, as he was the proofreader and editor and have no stake on this. So please ask me only The book is finished and we are currently checking printing options. I expect to open up a pre-order in less than two months. Thanks for the interest! |

I received a review copy of Mavoch about a month ago.
Ori performed two of the pieces for me over Skype before sending it over. I must admit, when he performed it on me, I was impressed that he got my PIN, but I wasn't necessarily amazed. To me, there was a lot going on. Both for me as the spectator and (now that I've read it) for him as the performer. There were a lot of questions asked by Ori. Not questions that directly told him my number, but questions about relationships between numbers. By the end, I felt I had given him plenty of pieces for him to be able to fill in the gaps. Did I know precisely how he did it? No! I had no idea were to even begin. But did it feel like mind reading? No. At least, it didn't feel how I expected mind reading to feel. It felt like a puzzle more so than plucking a thought from my head. I'm not saying this to be overly critical, just to shed light on my particular feelings I had when it was performed on me. I've since read the entire pdf and mulled over the pieces. I will say this: What Ori has accomplished is stunning. He has really been able to add layer and layer and idea after idea into this book. He has created numerous principles and tools to gain insight on the numbers in someone's head. He is a bit of a mad genius. I commend him for his ability to see these relationships and to put them to use in multiple ways throughout the book. If you're interested in this type of thing, get the book. It may just unlock some parts of your brain and allow you to explore numbers in a new way. HOWEVER, in terms of a piece of mind reading, this misses the mark for me. My philosophy has changed drastically over the past two years. When I present a piece of mind reading now, I have a list of things I'm looking for: -It needs to be easy for the spectator to follow -It needs to take less effort on the spectator than the performer--otherwise they feel like they did all the work -The method should be quick and painless -The method should feel effortless -The method should be covert rather than overt. In other words: The tricky process should be invisible, NOT THE MEMORABLE PART OF THE ROUTINE! There are more, but that gives a general idea of what I strive for. The last point is the newest on my list and it has made all the difference in what feels real to me and my spectators. Why? Well if the tricky part of the process that gives us the information is invisible, when the spectator's think about the trick, they will only remember this, "I thought of something, and then he told me it!" There's nothing for them to grasp on to as the method. If the tricky process is the memorable part of the routine, then they remember this, "I thought of something, and then I had to do a lot of stuff and answer a lot of questions which didn't really make sense, and then he was able to tell me what I was thinking. I don't know how he did it... but I bet it had something to do with all those questions." I'm well aware this post is becoming all about my performing philosophy and theory, but I feel it's important to share it so you know where I'm coming from. Honestly. this last point in my list has removed a LOT of material from my repertoire. Material that I was raving over just a couple of years ago no longer meets my requirements, so I have stopped doing them. Even though they were genius and well thought and incredibly put together, when I performed them, they just always fell a little flat for some reason. I couldn't quite put my finger on it until I arrived at this latest theory. Since then, I have discovered a world of difference. ANYWAY, back on topic, I feel Mavoch doesn't fit my final requirement. The tricky process is the entire portion of the routine. When they think of the routine, they will think of the tricky process simply because that's all there is. This isn't a routine that allows you to get the information covertly and then have a strong moment of acting and slap them across the face with the reveal. Instead, this routine is a slow burn where you slowly learn information little by little as they answer questions and do a varied number of processes and then at the end, after all the process, you're able to tell them the number. Again, this is not a knock at Ori. All of the methods are sound and they will work, and you can use every single idea in the book to effectively learn a PIN proplessly. They just don't feel how I want them to feel on a purely ethereal level, so I must be honest and say I won't be using anything from this pdf. There are tons of ideas and tons of tools and tons of methods. So much so, that you can put them together however you see fit to create your own number divinations, but unfortunately, they are all missing one quality I'm looking for. If you don't care about my own personal theory, (because why should you!?) then by all means pick this up! It's workable and surefire, and with practice, you'll be able to do it very smoothly (as done by Ori.) In fact, I encourage you to pick it up just to get a glimpse inside Ori's head to see all of the different ways he has utilized numbers in such unique ways and with such a unique voice in the mentalism community. Just because it doesn't work for me does not mean it won't work for anyone. I'm sure there are people out there that this will really resonate with and who will be out there stunning laymen with it time and time again. Madison |

The amount of effort you put into your reviews amazes me every time, Madison. Thank you.
I was NEVER under the illusion this will suit everyone. I know for a fact that those methods and tools are workable and fooling, and they work for me and for professionals around the globe. It does depend on style, of course. My style is not mindreading, it's more of "body language reading" or "psychological assumptions". That means, that I would actually enjoy having slow reveals instead of one out of nowhere, because it appears like I'm reading them as we go along. The tools in Mavoch allow you to do just that - you get hits along the way, leading to the final reveal. Is there process? Yes. Is it long? Depends on the routine. DOS is short easy to follow. From my experience, Pin My Thoughts is very easy to follow, as well as not long at all. For the Mavoch routines, I pick my spectators carefully before I perform it, and I outline how. Hearing that you won't use ANYTHING from this huge project saddens me, because it has so many new and updated ideas. But it's your call, and I fully respect it. Your honesty is why I insisted (and you know I did (: ) you will write me a review, even though you told me it won't be a positive one. I'm not looking for good reviews, just reviews. I'm lucky, and most of those are very good - but I'm glad there are exceptions, because it says something about the honesty and the amount of the good ones. Same goes for this review - being called a mad genius by you, after you said you aren't using my material, means you really mean it. And I'm grateful for that. Thank you, Madison. |

The grace with which you took that speaks volumes about you as a person, and about your confidence in your tools.

On Jul 10, 2019, Ori Ascher wrote: That answer is a class act, and I am amazed at the age of the person who wrote it. At that age, not many are that humble and mature. Only for that, I am already impressed. Second, I must say that I should not be posting here. I tend to literally hate numbers in mentalism, as they are usually -for me- about torturing your participant with mental acrobatics and tiring calculations. Moreover, they almost every time look like a math puzzle. Finally, they tend to fail, as a subject under pressure is prone to miscount or make a mistake on very simple operations, like 8 plus 6. I speak from experience. That's the reason that years ago, I decided to ditch them. That's a personal choice. Well, Ori once asked me to perform some of his stuff on me, and although I was reluctant (numbers? Really? PINs???) I finally accepted, as I simply could not shut this incredible enthusiasm down. I admit he managed to surprise me, and I kept smiling while I was being introduced to the various ploys he used to gain information. Devious. The work of a subtle mind, paying attention to every detail. I hate numbers. And yet, I am writing this because I liked what Ori did here. The quality and the depth of his thinking and the attention he gives to every single justification and detail impressed me. He nailed my thought, and had I been a layperson, I'd be really wondering what happened here. One thing I need to point out: it's not self-working. You'll need to work a little bit at making most of the material flawless the way Ori does it. But unfortunately, good stuff come with a price. I must point out that nobody will backtrack anything. Every single track has been carefully covered. If you're into numbers and PIN-related stuff, I think that this is something you must read. The tools in there WILL serve you well. And you'll get to meet a promising mind. Because I believe that this is not the last we hear from Ori. Much love, always Phedon

Let me just preface this by saying I met Ori last year and the first thing he did when we skyped was this effect. The first versions of this effect was much more rough and lengthy than what is presented here. One thing I could say about Ori is this, he is one persistent mofo. He’ll keep trying and refining effects until it is the best it could be. I know that people will get at least something from this project because personally I think it’s a book of principles using a pincode divination as an excuse to teach it. I’ll just highlight some stuff that I personally think are the gems in this book.
I’d like to think of this as sort of the Isolation / Train Tracking of numbers but it can be applied to much more than just numbers. I’d leave it to the reader to create their own effects using the principles in this book. Personally one of my favourite things here are the principles taught like Eureka and the Corridor Ploy because they are unique new concepts that can be applied to other premises. Not to say that the other principles can’t be applied to other stuff this is just what stood out for me. Another stand out for me is Pin My Thoughts, its a very straightforward reverse pin that’s a good effect to do right after divining their pin. It uses very minimal math that's very simple for the spectator to follow. What I like about this is at the end of the effect your spectator gives a reading about you and you can confirm they are right at the end! This applies the Eureka principle in a great way. Mavoch itself is something you have to work for in order to do it smoothly, like I said it’s sort of like Train Tracking / Isolation in way where if you put in the proper time and effort in it you’ll have a propless pincode divination at your disposal anytime. Lastly the bonus section I think has a lot of food for thought that could spark great ideas for the reader, like the The Little Snippet from Luke Turner is a simple idea but it can be applied to more stuff than just numbers. This part I believe are the mini nuggets of gold you can use to create premises/effects on your own. All in all this is a good project to invest on, even if you won’t perform the main effect here you will still walk away with principles that you can add or substitute to the effects you are already doing now. I’ve seen how this effect evolved in the course of knowing Ori as he shows me something new everytime he has a new improvement on this effect so I can tell that this is really a labor of love and Ori really worked hard refining and perfecting this routine. Keep on killing it Ori! Karl |

I don't know you Ori - but I think you sent me a friend request on facebook a year or so ago. I didn't accept it because I didn't know you or have a clue at all that you were even involved in the Mystery Arts. I hope you weren't offended as it wasn't personal.
Anyways, I just wanted to send you my very best wishes for your future. You have a marvelous attitude for such a young soul and it's so refreshing to see. |

I received a copy of Ori's "Mavoch" about a month ago and I must admit I am impressed by his thinking. It is obvious that a lot of thinking and passion has gone into this project. When a creator puts this much love, attention and effort into a project then he has my respect.
When Ori performed his effects to me over Skype he made everything seem effortless and it is apparent that he has practised these routines a lot for real audiences. However, both Ori and I agreed that this project might not be for everyone. Performing some of the routines in the book as confidently and competently as Ori will require an investment of practice and effort. Thankfully, the structure of the book helps the reader get familiar with the simpler techniques first and then proceeds to the more advanced routines such as "Mavoch". Regardless of how much of the material in this book you will end up using, I believe that it is worth studying if you are looking into expanding your knowledge on PIN/numbers divinations. |

Okay, I have seen many methods with propless divinations which require lot of fishing and honestly they either take the interest out of the routine or they are too cumbersome to perform. But boy oh boy, Ori Ascher has hit it out of the park with this propless PIN Divination. Arguably the best PIN Divination I have ever seen anyone perform. I still remember how baffled I was after seeing it Perform on me despite being a Magician/mentalist. The amount of work and thought Ori has put into this one makes it the most clever Divination ever.

Thank you so much, Madison, for such an honest and in-depth review--it was genuinely helpful for consumers. Wish there were more like that. And thank you, Ori, for your maturity and grace, and for offering the community a work that, while it may not be perfect for everyone, is clearly a major new tool in the propless number divination mix!
