After Steve announced his book everything on the list became irrelevant. Except "SECRETS OF THE HINDU SHUFFLE" maybe Smile

Does that mean all books on the subject of card, dice and other areas of hustling and chicanery, including Forte's Casino Game Protection and Poker Protection books have been superseded and are not relevant at this point?

Obviously, you have not read another must have book, "Beyond the Asian Hustle." It supersedes advanced Hindu Shuffles techniques and uses the little-known Bohemian Swivel Twist methodology. It was written by the notorious road hustler Ronald McDonald, who has been the face of the McDonald's Hamburger chain previously. (No relation to Arnold McDonald).

If you had read "Beyond the Asian Hustle," and were acquainted with this new Avant Garde methodology, you would not have made such a far-reaching statement as quoted above. Smile

Cant find anything called "Beyond the Asian Hustle." Must be very rare item. The only Ronald McDonald that I know of is a clown.

I haven't red Forte's books. They are very pricey right now. Can't hustle to make money to buy books that can teach me to hustle. The game is rigged from the start.

You have to be a member of a very obscure secret society for the hustler inteligencia to be able to read the book, and entry is by invitation only. There are only three copies of"Beyond the Asian Hustle" in existence and I have all three.

Little known fact is Ronald McDonald wrote that book and was a top hustler before he became the McDonald Hamburgers clown. He took the clown job because the pay was more steady as a clown than for being a hustler.

Yes, it appears to be a vicious circle of sorts.

Yes, it is interchangeable. I think most would have missed that subtlety.

I do like some of the old gambling books, not so much for the techniques in them but rather for the philosophy or wisdom they contain. Mind you, the procedure of side games today is much the same as it was in the Wild West and some of the old techniques still work in them.
If there is a single truth about Magic, it is that nothing on earth so efficiently evades it.

Good point. By the way, you guys in jolly-ole England don't pack six-shooters on your belts to duplicate the procedures of these Wild-West type games? The threat of a six-gun was part of the techniques used. Smile

The only gambler I know who carries a gun here is an old pal of mine. The reason he carries a gun now is that one night he won a few grand at the casino and was ambushed on arriving home by a gang with knives and robbed. There are a lot of young kids being murdered with knives here at the moment. We own a bar in the city and I know all these young fellows carry a tool of one sort or another. The bars are dangerous places because the locals are like gangs and look after each other if trouble starts. I would not like being caught in one of these bars cheating them in some penny-ante poker comp. I kid you not.

By the way, the other day a gang robbed our local casino using chainsaws as weapons.

Gosh. All we get in Vegas are stick up men who rob the cages wearing full-face motorcycle helmets.

The most important book any hustler or grifter could ever read is "How to Win Friends and Influence People", by Dale Carnegie.

The most important book any gambler could ever read is any high-school-level text on mathematical probability.

My best wishes to Mr Forte, and may his book make him much wealth.

But neither he nor anyone else could write the last word on any subject.

"How to Win Friends and Influence People" was Charles Manson's favorite book. No joke.

It is a good book: Full-time professional poker players play in casino cash games, where they now again find a rich businessman, who is a part-time player no match for the full-time professional. Then, one who knows will set about winning the whales friendship and influencing him to come and play at our private joint, where he will build a game around him. That is "How to Win Friends and Influence People" and get their money at the card table.
