I just got my copy. I'm about a third of the way through, but let me assure there is some GREAT thinking going on in this book. I love his memorized deck work - the first trick alone is a masterpiece! If you enjoy mem deck work, I think you will be very happy with your purchase! And the way he outlines each trick, explains how to do it, gives it extra thought and credits, and then has his gang of friends offer more advice - really original construction. (And there is more than just mem deck work - other really smart stuff.) I strongly recommend it.

I've written a blog post on Vanishing Inc. which talks about how I developed the unusual concept for the book:

Finally my copy came in just today! Thanks Matt for this wonderful book.

Now I'll really need some Omega 3 supplements to go with the material featured in the book.

You should have ordered it this weekend, he sent out an email to his list and offered 20% off plus his Penguin Lecture at a deep discount. I ordered both. Smile

In addition to great magic, Matt presents two excellent jokes based on quantum physics. The problem is finding someone who knows enough to get them.

For those of you that haven’t read Matt Baker’s book ‘The Buena Vista Social Club’ I have to say it’s amazing.

On my new review show we review the book and Ryland performs one of our favourite routines from the book.

You can check out the review and performance at the link below but rest assured this book it ace!

Outstanding book.

For those who have it, I think this is the Mnemonica equivalent for the table on page 163:

Red 27 - 14 - 93
Black 27 - 13 - 78

Following up on my last post, here is a full table for Mnemonica. It's broken down into the top 27 cards and the bottom 25 cards of the stack. The idea here is that no matter what they call out at the conclusion of the trick (face-up, face-down, red, black), you have your numbers memorized.

If you know the key numbers, you really only need to remember one set, like the previous one, and you can do the math in your head. Or you can be like me and just print a line of text and put it under a bar code and paste it on the bottom of the card box.

Total value for each color
182

Top 27 (Mnemonica)
Red: 27 - 14 - 93
Black: 27- 13- 78

Bottom 25 Mnemonica)
Red: 25 - 12 - 89
Black: 25 - 13 - 104

I'm fairly sure nothing of the above is of any value for people who don't own the book but please report to the admins if you consider this exposure.
