Hi everyone, a few years back Dick Oslund brought attention to a great routine using the multiplying balls that he suggested would play well for children. It’s The Uncountable Golf Balls by Clayton Rawson published in the 1949 issue of Hugard’s Magic Monthly. You can see the routine described here:

I’ve tried to kind of create the effect using different patter and with coins instead. I’m using John Jurney’s Coin Coalition set. You can see that coin set reviewed in the Trick Coin Trickery section. I think the effect with coins can potentially play well for both children and adult audiences. I wanted to share it in case it could be of interest to anyone🙂 John

Nice job. You have an almost Fred Kaps style of presentation (as in his Homing Card)

Wravyn, you couldn’t have given me a better compliment! A couple of weeks ago at my local IBM, the theme was - mimic a magical hero. I performed the Homing Card the way Fred Kaps presented it. He is definitely an influence and I was thinking of his Homing Card presentation when I was trying to develop this! John

Many thanks Michael!
Thank you Dick for bringing Clayton Rawson’s routine to people’s attention! I really like your thinking on not making the multiplying balls appear to be a demonstration of skill. I’ve been trying to think of alternative handlings for things like balls and coins. John
