I recently purchased a used (but just like new) Color Changing Foulard with four, six-bloom feather flower bouquets. Each bloom is about 7 inches in diameter and each bouquet is 15 inches tall. Although I like the Color Changing Foulard (it has two holders that can store two bouquets in each), it seems very apparent to me (and my wife) that there is some kind of load underneath the foulard. What foulards or other production medium can be suggested that others have found hide the load(s) better? Your feedback is greatly appreciated.

Abbott's Magic Mfg. Co. in Colon, Mi. Sell their Garden of Flowers Foulards. I purchased the Junior model, and put my own boarder on myself. That is basicly the only difference between the Junior and Stage size models. They do sell the cloths only.
To be frank, none I have ever seen completely conceal the loads. That is why I use the fantastic Pat Page Triple Bouquet Production. Also, remember to remove the bouquet from the cloth, not the cloth from the bouquet. When I saw the effect you mention, only one bouquet was produced and that was a large one. I think maybe you are loading to much in your cloth. Also, your bouquets sound kind of small. |

If the foulard is made correcty, the pockets are suspended within two peices of fabric.. If you look at my website movie, you will see what the foulard should look like to be deceptive.
Wm. is correct..Lifting the foulard makes it appear that the flowers appear under the foulard not pulled from it. It also keeps the audience from having to refocus upon the bouquet production. I may be prejuidance ( ok I am!) but I was never impressed with any of the European or Asian flower effeccts. They were not full looking and looked like a production of a fuzzy wuzzy.

Thank you both for your suggestions. I will check Abbott's and other sources for a different foulard.

Richard Hughes also makes the complete Garden of Flowers effect (he forgot to mention that, humble him).
So, you would get way better bouquets, and a way better foulard. Any product he makes is worth the investment. - Donald.

Hi, Donald! Thanks for the recommendation. I've actually spoken with Richard a few times over the past 2 weeks (since many people in this forum kept recommending him). I bought his foulard and ordered his Bamboo Surprise with a Peony Bouquet. The foulard is really high quality and is elegant --- it looks much better than the ones I have seen from Abbott's. I will have to put off ordering the other bouquets simply ecause I will be moving soon and you know those expenses. So for now, I will make do with the bouquets I have for now which look pretty but I know are not quite up to the workmanship of those that Richard makes. When I get the Peony bouquet, I will see if in time I order 3 more of those because I like the way they open up and seem "realistic" in the photos. Thanks again!!!

I bought the Abbott Jr model years ago. It was made from a brown paisley printed fabric and when I loaded the bouquets you could totally see the pull rings as they were green enamle paint. All I had to do was get a small jar of flat brown model paint and 'dip' the rings (and a little further up the stem) and after that they were fine. Just an FYI.

Instead of painting the rings black, I decided to put thick black tape on the rings. This serves the same purpose plus adds a little protection to the ring.
Today, I received Richard Hughes' Bamboo Surprise. It came with a red and white silk streamer (which he redid a couple of times to fit with my wishes) and a red and white peony bouquet. This bouquet of feather flowers looks terrific! It is high quality and opens up quite nicely. After I move, I will be ordering a couple of more bouquets. I'm quite pleased!!! Thanks Rich! Jimmy

The gafers tape or any tape will get sticky and can cause problems down the road with residue on the fabric.
Just get some Krylon ultra flat black paint and paint them. Glad you liked the the mat effect.

I have an Abbott Senior Garden of Flowers that I love. It is very well made and the flowers are of professional grade, a professional prop.
My rings show but it does not matter you only show the back briefly and the cloth is moving so no problem. No need to paint them. |

My foulard has little flaps to cover the rings so they do not flash.
But you are in correct in saying that most people do not see the rings. Abbott's product is serviceable product. Of course, I think my product is better. It is purely a matter of taste and budget.

I have recently become the very proud (and satisfied) owner of one of Richard Hughes' Zombie Foulards. The quality of his work and the timely responses of his correspondence and shipping are superb.

Glad you like it Jonathon though I am not sure why this showed up under flower foulards.

You're right Richard. Thanks for pointing out that my testimonial on your Zombie Foulards was in the wrong place.
I've re-posted my comments under what seems to be a more suitable thread: http://www.themagiccafe.com/forums/viewt......forum=54 If you know of a better place, please let me know. Best regards. Jonathan
