Isn't "Control" is the problem.
A free exchange of tested information and knowledge would be better... even if it is for all intents and purposes improbable. If you only had the propaganda of that time and area as a resource, then the group breaking out in song is logical. Indeed, what would not seem true and inevitable if everyone around you believed and taught it, and demonized and punished any opposition? Would it be evil if you simply believed the only thing you were taught and allowed to believe? Regardless, that has little to do with a sustainable lifestyle.
Magic is doing improbable things with odd items that, under normal circumstances, would be unnessecary and quite often undesirable.

The scene is missing the opening of Max casually suggesting that the Nazis have their uses in controlling the Communists. Then "we" will control the Nazi's. Brian asks; "Who's 'we?' " and Max responds; "The good Germans."
That gives the chill to Brian's; "Still think you can... control them?" at the end.

If there is a single truth about Magic, it is that nothing on earth so efficiently evades it.

That, Tommy, was appropriate maybe.
I do not know the politics behind them, and that isn't relevant. My right to speak, and your right to be offended are equal. This shouldn't mean either of us should be silent nor be unoffended. If I don't want to offend, I might choose to refrain from saying something, to be merely polite. I might also choose to not be offended, it might just be polite. But I still don't know how it affect a more sustainable lifestyle, or a hamburger made out of plants, outside of a rhetorical and largely irrelevant straw man argument.

The point he is making is that truth has a price. If you do not want to risk antagonising your daughter then never dare tell her that what she did was wrong. Instead, tell her what she did good and help throw stones at her enemies, you know, as her “friends” do. You might have a good relationship with her doing that but I do not think you will be doing her any good doing so.
If there is a single truth about Magic, it is that nothing on earth so efficiently evades it.

I agree Tommy.
While I think you misunderstood, or I phrased it poorly, I know the world is a hard place and teaching your children that "everything they think or feel is good" is among the worse things you can do (my opinion), although you can do so kindly as a teacher. Anyone who wants to put their opinion forward honestly, should always be willing to really listen to opposing opinions. Otherwise you're merely preaching. So now I'm preaching: A Plant Based Sustainable lifestyle will be forced on us one day if we don't do it ourselves. Either that or we'll consume ourselves out of a hospitable planet. And the Impossible Whopper is still a good burger. Anyone who agrees, will agree to that statement; anyone who believes it's false will still believe it's false. Right or wrong, my opinion as stated is largely irrelevant.
