Some books and YouTube videos show you how to train the pendulum--or let it train you if you have the imagination--as to what motions indicate yes, no, or nuanced responses. The vigor and attitude of the swings communicate as well, right?
Demonstrating for a receptive participant is helpful, I have found.

I'm actually finding the Dr Bill's Multibob Book to be an amazing resource! (And just ordered the Pendulum Power book, which looks good as well.)
