Hi there,

does anyone have any resources on a coin flourish where the coin seems to move by itself behind the performers fingers? sorry for the vagueness, not sure how else to describe it. I'll look for a video if need be. thanks for any info

best

I believe you are talking about the way Mickey Silver sometimes moves the coin around his hand before his vanish. If you watch the video, you should be able to figure out the reason for the movement. However, it's a style kind of movement, and in my opinion takes away from the move you are about to do. Personal choice.

Hello Joe ,

I know exactly what you are talking about !! Here is a valuable secret that most Magicians do not know when it comes to moving the coin with the pad of your thumb using both hands and the hands finger tips.

.. NOTE: The coin “ IS NOT “ to be slid up and down on the pads of your fingers ( it will never move that smooth) .... INSTEAD - slide the coin up and down by sliding it along the “ VERY TOP” of your bent inward fingers... Imagine that you are actually sliding up and down strictly on the tips of the finger nails... If you press the coin with your thumb it will hit your nails that are cut below your finger tips.

Now when you get to the top,,,, drag the coin along your first finger and back using “ LESS” pressure from your thumb while sliding along your first finger

JOE! Its a really nice single coin flourish. I use this to gain attention from my spectators to have them look at the coin and my hands without saying a word ,,,, They cannot help but to look !!!

Then I make a final move by vanishing the coin right in front of their eyes !! See Joe when you do this you will be directing them right to the very final move of vanishing the coin !!! Their eyes will follow the coin in detail because the coin is moving ........... “THIS SETS UP A VERY POWERFUL COIN VANISH” ( remember Joe always have a motive )

Ha!
And I thought you had finger-tips,
as smooth as the best safe-cracker!
...honestly.

I could NEVER get the Coin to 'glide'.
My Coin always stuttered and puttered,
like a bicycle with square tyres.

Mickey, I thank you for the lesson,...in 'slide-of-hand'. (🙃)
I really appreciate it.
Thanks!
Gallagher

The master has spoken. This flourish is pure gold, thanks Mickey.

I came up with a variation of the finger tip vanish from practicing this gem.

Thanks again Mickey!, I wish all is well with you.

Wonderful! Thanks everyone for the great replies, tips, touches, and psychology Smile FYI in looking more into this I also saw Lawrens Gordon using this and moving the coin towards the bottom of his hand as well. Anyways, off to practice.

best,
joe
