When doing the razor blade illusion which do most people use? Thread or dental floss?

I never heard of anyone using dental Floss, it sticks to itself, doesn't it?
All the methods I have purchased over the last 60 years, use black thread. Same with the needle effect. There is none currently available on the market to my knowledge, they usually come and go very quickly when offered. I mention this, because if you are not familiar with the effect, do not try to do without the proper professionally made props. I suggest you buy this professionally made version by Dave Powell. http://shop.powellmagic.com/index.php?ro......ct_id=62 |

Thank you for the link. I'm currently researching the effect so have limited knowledge of it at the moment. My first introduction being the Helter Shelter DVD.

Most use thread, though my favorite method is Dan Sperry's Always Remember to Floss, which uses dental floss.
Those who don't believe in magic will never find it.

Vito Lupo used a very thick yellow thread if I recall. Black thread is terrible to use because no one can see it.

I use dental floss. I've never had a problem with it sticking or breaking.
