After nearly a year, the most impressive pin divination that I have ever experienced, "Sherlocked 2.0" by Thaddius Barker, is finally available.

Provided is a professional study course featuring a full .pdf and full length video explanation.

The link to the product available exclusively through 13 Souls Productions is below the ad copy.

"The PIN code divination is one of the most impressive feats you can perform for a modern audience.

So many creators before me have contributed their thoughts on this idea; now it is my turn to add something to the mix.

Sherlocked is a system that can be used by itself, or in conjunction with other PIN code revelations. While it may take some study initially, once learned, it is easy to recollect and you can use it in virtually any environment – stage, close up, parlor, etc. – regardless of region or language barriers.

It is meant to be a foundation upon which you can build your own glorious performance variations, as many performers and creators already have.

With absolutely no forces, peeks, or awkward unexplained processes, this system will assist you in revealing a participant’s freely thought-of PIN code.

You will also learn a variety of old school principles that you can use in many other areas of mentalism which will ultimately aid you in simplifying your methods so that you can work on your presentation.

My name is Thaddius, and this is Sherlocked."

Can this be used to reveal their actual pin code or only a pin code that's been made up by them?

Made up on the spot, which is topic of discussion in the video.

It is great that the 13 souls invested in a drone, some special effects for the trailer etc. but somebody in the team forgot a key issue: the performance.
"But it would give away the secret"!
Well too bad then

Well, if a vid will give it away, because people watch and watch something trying to unpick it... I'd definitely not show a full performance... Too many greedy swine in magic that just want to take take take...

How hard is this for the spectator to follow?? Any maths for the spectator / you involved?

We judge our releases based on quality of the material, it was the American side of the company that shot the video. I green lighted this project as I liked what I saw. Then again, I have been judged for my taste in the past - If anyone messages Thaddius I am sure he would send you a full performance. In-fact thinking about it (I am on the fly)I am pretty sure that there is a full performance video that was created for this effect (a less cinematic style trailer)... Go onto each of the products on the 13 souls website and most of them have a full performance trailer of some kind - We like you agree that the effect (if at all possible should be seen). We will always be honest if the trailer can't be aired as not to tip the method, we have no worries Smile

Hope all is well.

Thanks Jacob and Peter. The 13 souls website does not have a performance, and the Youtube link https://youtu.be/KDeVeVWPPIQ, while better than nothing, only shows small highly-edited snippets. Based on that trailer, a kid could achieve the same result with a NW.
I recommend following the example of Proteus, where multiple performances were made available: yes they showed the use of PA, so what? I happily bought it anyway

My question as well, also - is this 100% ?

Certainly interested based on the reactions of those performers...

I have had an older version performed on me.
This is surefire and elegant.
With the right amount of practice (which isn't that much, to be honest), you'll have a miracle in your hands.

We'll be sure to consider that in the future. Thank you.

Yes, as long as you have your script and game set then this is 100% sure fire and it's a psychomechanical method.

Look forward to seeing what you all do with Thad's brainchild, I'm a huge fan of this one.

Someone who shares my thoughts, I love seeing a full video performance it makes me confident in the product. The 13 have been good in that respect for the most part and one thing I will say (from purchasing a few effects from their site) is that the video quality is second to none - it makes the videos enjoyable to watch and you know you’re getting your money’s worth. But I understand where you are coming from, when it’s all video and no real gold then there’s an issue. I’m hoping this is great, I will wait for a couple of reviews. I’m not familiar with Thaddeus.

I bought this. No affiliation to the producers. This is my initial impression so take that for what you will :

WHAT YOU GET :
You get a PDF and access to a video that shows several uncut performances, as well as a discussion of the components of the method.

THE METHOD :
No calculations but rather deductions. A lot of the components have been featured in other work (Turner, Murray) but they fit nicely under the umbrella of Sherlocked (nod to the BBC series I'm sure).

AMOUNT OF PROCEDURE FOR THE SPECTATOR :
The spectator is given the instruction to think of a pin, and a little bit more which I can't mention. There's no math for them to do. Everything is completely justified. The never have to write anything down.

AMOUNT OF PROCEDURE FOR THE PERFORMER :
No math. A tiny bit of keeping track of numbers as you piece the pin together - or you could just write it down as you go. Amazingly, you can sometimes get the pin in a matter of seconds. There's usually 3 or 4 steps that you have to work through.

It doesn't get tedious or obvious. The longest it would take you is about 1 minute and 30 seconds

DIFFICULTY :
This is not for someone just starting out in (prop-less) mentalism. If you have experience with the works of Peter Turner and Michael Murray (and you like that type of thing) then you should feel at home with this piece.

It requires a tiny bit of memory work coupled with logic. This is not fast food mentalism, you will have to put in a little bit of time and practice before you take this out for a spin. I would say its a bit easier than Isabella's Star 3 but harder than Sudo's Dice effect. Again, this is subjective.

IS IT WORTH IT ?

In my opinion, Yes! It's prop-less yet pretty surefire (unless you pick a really dim spectator). I would go as far as to say that it is one of the shining stars of prop-less mentalism.

Thanks for the review ! Is there any chance a clever spectator could backtrack the method ? Or somehow figure the method out?

Unless you're performing for Alan Turing , I don't think you would have to worry about the spectator completely unraveling this. Like with any prop-less effect, the work gets distorted in the spectator's memory. It never hurts to re-frame any prop-less effect with "you had a free choice" "you could have completely changed your mind" and so on.

Can anyone compare this and Peter Turner's 'Not So Bold Pin Divination' that was included on Devil in Disguise 2?
They sound to be very similar in both how the effect looks and the general approach in method. Thanks.
