Hey guys,
I was browsing an electronics store here in Tokyo about an hour ago, and happened upon some Bicycle Japan Playing Cards. I thought they were cool looking, so I picked up one of each color (green, blue, and pink). I can't really find any information on them other than several auctions on eBay for pretty high prices. One auction is selling all three for $75! Here's the info that's available: "Bicycle Japan Playing Cards by USPCC are strictly a Japan Release Printed on premium Bicycle brand cardstock Classic Air-Cushion Finish for ease of shuffling and optimum performance Printed by United States Playing Card Company in the USA Limited Edition - will never be re-printed again" Does anyone know anything else about these decks, such as how limited they really are? You can always try to reach USPCC through their website and ask how large the run was.
It's never crowded on the extra mile....

Hey guys,
I reached out to USPCC, and asked a few questions about these decks. Here are my questions, followed by their responses: _________________________ -When were they released? These shipped in early 2019 to our customer in Japan. I do not know the exact date they were released for sale. -Are they limited edition? They are limited by the quantity produced per color, 3 colors. We do not message these as a limited edition. -If so, how many were produced? First run 5k per color. -Any special features that make them unique? The color and quality and Bicycle brand. -Are they really only available in Japan? These are sold to Japan/in Japan. If resellers lists on any ecomm platform available to a global audience, same with additional distribution to other areas. These are not distributed directly from USPC to any other international account or through the US domestic market. These are custom decks produced solely for our distributor in Japan, Matsui Gaming. They do an amazing range of custom decks for the Japanese market and greater region with focus on the designer, designer toy and kidult channels. You can also find our custom Bicycle decks with Fragment at the Conveni in Sony Square/Tokyo. _____________________ So it looks like these are somewhat rare, but not in a limited edition type of way. Now that I know they're not so rare, I'll crack open a pack and let you guys know if I feel a difference in quality. Hope this information helps some of you card collectors! D. |
