There is a thread elsewhere on the Café and on the Genii discussion board heaping great praise on Bruce Elliott's 'Classic Secrets Of Magic.'
I was wondering what people thought about Elliott's three other books: 1) The Best in Magic 2) Professional Magic Made Easy 3) Magic as a Hobby Are they worth getting? What routines do you especially like in them? |

Magic As A Hobby is really good.We used to have it in our library, then somebody got clever and stole it.I will be buying it in the near future.

In the 1950's, probably more magicians got started by reading Magic as a Hobby than any other book. Most of the material in Elliot's books came from the Phoenix magazine which he edited for a while. All his books contain usable material from some of the top magicians of the time from all fields of magic. As a "child of the 50's myself I can certainly recommend them
