“This is a special deck of magic cards. I’m will predict any card you think of. Watch” That’s what I say, anyway.

Xcath1 that works for me my friend!
It's simple and right to the point! Again, we can get too caught up with overthinking our stuff to death. The simpler the magic and the plot the more powerful it becomes. This can be presented as a fun piece of magic or as a very real prediction, it's up to your own personal style of presentation. I love effects that are powerful but still allow room for me to be myself The funny part is that sometimes I'm in a whimsical, playful mood and sometimes I wanna do some REAL MAGIC. With Any Card I can play it either way |

Anyone know what to do when the spec confirms that they are thinking of an Ace, after you've done the m*scall as per Richard's preferred handling? Do I just guess the suit of the Ace they're thinking of?

I see Penguin stating it’s discontinued. That sounds weird... . Your best bet might be Richard’s site: https://sandersfx.com/collections/all/products/any-card
Please check regularly if you are becoming the type of magician Jerry Seinfeld jokes about. (This applies to mentalists as well.)

Richard to the rescue.
"The New York Papers," Mark Twain once said,"have long known that no large question is ever really settled until I have been consulted; it is the way they feel about it, and they show it by always sending to me when they get uneasy. "

Can’t you just do a standard brainwave deck reveal of that one Ace if they do ? Gaz 🙂

You tell them you have their card predicted in the deck. You mention the Aces (which if they're thinking of an Ace, by this point they will be reacting in some affirmative way) Act as if that falls perfectly in line with what you knew they'd say (after all you did predict it) What I would personally do here in this case is then remark about how I actually have all 4 aces face up....to cover all bases. (you can show any 4 aces at this point) Then ask but if they were to name a specific ace which would it be? Once they say one, ie spades, remark 'thats funny, I had a feeling it would be that one specifically' and re-remove the aces but this time on the back they'll say Ace of Spades. or Once it's revealed theyre thinking of an ace, ask if they have a favourite one... |

It might be Richard where I got this from but you can also mention the aces are turned over because everyone names an ace...so if you wanted to you could also simply acknowledge it, then dismiss it.
Something like: Performer: I have your card predicted in my deck. Ive turned over the four aces, because everyone thinks of an ace. Which is what you're thinking of right? Spec: (shocked) yes! Performer: See! Everyone thinks of aces! They're almost too easy. So let's make this more difficult. Name a card that you think there's no way I could possibly know you would go for. Spec: ummm...Two of Clubs Performer: Yea that's a bit more specific and much more challenging to predict...especially when I've already committed to these Aces (said as you remove the four aces) but, you see these Aces...they arent actually from this deck......and I knew you would think of the aces first (slight reframe there to make it seem like you predicted a four of a kind first) followed by a very speficic card....THE TWO OF CLUBS. Theres a few ways you could approach it. |

People who like this should also check out Cameron Francis Red Hot Prediction which is also in his Penguin Live. Some similarities, less likely to flash anything and easier to carry around as don’t need extra deck. Just some extra cards. I think it’s just as powerful. There is only so many gaff decks to take with you...

I think I read earlier somewhere in this long thread that Richard Sanders mentions that if any of the aces (Ace to King) get spoiled or bent they can be replaced with any from a regular deck. Can anyone confirm if this is correct? The main reason I ask is that I've not let the spectators handle the cards as I was a bit nervous that if they got bent they wouldn't work right with whatever treatment the cards have.
Thanks for any replies to this question. I have been having fun with this deck and it's getting great reactions. I've messed up the reset a few times but after going back over the video instructions more thoroughly I've sorted that out.

Yes, the Aces are completely normal. You just have to write on the backs again.
Grab any card ((pun intended) from a regular deck and test it in your Any Card deck to see for yourself. |

Thanks Videoman,
Much appreciated. That makes it easier now. Our Aussie $ is so weak against the green back it wouldn't be cheap to have to keep buying replacement decks.
