A lot of comments were deleted. Not sure why, mods (moderators) apparently thought they were inappropriate...
Please check regularly if you are becoming the type of magician Jerry Seinfeld jokes about. (This applies to mentalists as well.)

OH YEAH, I know this one! It's also called TOWTMAUTSHABTTV.
How many magicians does it take to change a lightbulb? Regardless, for magicians darkness is a time for d'lite.

Mods must have deleted lots of comments because they were unsubstantiated claims of theft, but for the credibility of my own reputation it's worth mentioning here. I believe the trick Weber believes was 'ripped off' from him was this ... https://www.ellusionist.com/jack-black-b......rke.html . (It has nothing to do with the current oil & water effect - he just doesn't like this one) On Sep 29, 2015 @ 11:10 PM I emailed him with the breakdown of how I was using a technique for it aka JackBlack (first published in The Jinx in 1938 by Charles T Jordan & Laurie Ireland) - I know he's familiar with the technique. He responded to my first email to ask me some more questions. In this aforementioned email I disclosed the high/low stack and what the presentation was (all phases). I never got an email back. So I never asked his permission, I was asking for further crediting on Jackblack and he never said "no", because it's not his sleight to approve. It's a shame because he's a hero in magic to most. I heard that he was upset when I published JackBlack over a year after my email was sent and I was upset because after hearing nothing back, Weber himself published a spectator deals blackjack trick in his Session notes - before Jackblacks release (although it's worth stating different methods). I'm not arrogant enough to assume that he stole it from me. Despite having it all documented and explained in email, he probably came up with the idea independently. Doesn't bother me. I published mine afterwards. He's a clever man and there's nothing new under the sun. I bet people have done the same plot before us both also. Then I received an email where Weber was shocked to see my version go out. I spoke to him at the following Session Convention, man to man (I initiated conversation). All was well and he was very polite. So it's crazy to see this come outta nowhere. I've emailed him privately again to sort the situation out. I DO have integrity and would never steal. I remember buying Weber's Red/Black 2.0 to pay my hard earned money towards crediting JackBlack (he was included in the credits upon release out of respect.) He only took cash at Blackpool, and I had none on me so he gave me the book immediately and said to sort it out another time.... we were strangers to each other but we had a mutual friend in Joe Barry and he put trust in me. I went straight to the cashpoint to not abuse his trust and tracked in down in the Ruskin to give him the £50 for the booklet. I remember vividly at the time, he was shocked to see me arrive with the money and thanked me graciously. If I was going to be as blatant as stealing a routine, I would have never met him, emailed him for further credits, got a copy of his book from him personally etc. It's a completely mis-informed claim and one with no factual foul play. I have the emails and I have the crediting. Hopefully that clears it all up. Now for those looking to buy the effect, the link is here and it does have some great reviews so far ... https://www.ellusionist.com/oil-and-wate......rke.html Thank you all, - G |

Wow,
You sound like a saint. He must really be old and forgetful and out to get other magicians for no reason at all. |
