I totally agree Iain it’s got some great uses and it’s a very unique , clever and well made gimmick Gaz 🙂

I would be delighted to be proved wrong but this strikes me as mentalism magic as opposed to mentalism. Having said that, it does look good though and with some splendid endorsements.

It's mentalism in the same way the pegasus page is...

Got mine today. The book routine is well worth the money and you also get a fabulous little Post It ģimmmick that could be used in a hundred other effects. Will have to get my thinking cap on...

Mine arrived today. Very clever. Finding the 'move' a bit challenging, but expect that I will 'get it down' eventually...

I guess that I'm in the minority who didn't care for this release. My gimmicks looked far from flush (after the "move") and it looks obvious that something isn't right with the pad. Moreover, this same effect can be done so easily with sleight-of-hand that I just don't see the value. In fact, a simple switch would be better because the spectator can later examine everything and find nothing. The only value I got from the download was how to gaff the book, which was clever. Otherwise, I cannot recommend this. However, credit goes to the creator for coming up with the basic plot, which was quite imaginative.

The gimmick is very simple to flush up by just adjusting a certain something yourself if need be .
Obviously it shouldn’t have arrived like that but its easily remedied if necessary . A switch is not necessary as it really is just a post it note and is above any suspicion but if you received a faulty gimmick I can see why you may not have been so impressed as others Gaz 🙂 |

I mainly bought it so I could use it as an add-a-number pad... Yes there's ungimmicked handlings but I much prefer this...
The pad will have a little wave to it, but keep it under some books overnight and you're fine...

In other words, can the book being used be any unprepared book and the page and word being forced can be accomplished using the Hoy Book Test method..or by using one of the many "Hoy" variations derived by others? 3. And finally, if the book must be prepared, can it be prepared for 2 or 3 page and word forces being performed back-to-back? Thanks for any information in these regards. Mike P.S. How difficult is the sleight of hand needed to accomplish the vanish? And, can the word that is vanished be able to reappear back on the pad, or, must it "reappear" elsewhere (using a dupe or otherwise)?

Thanks, Ian.
I appreciate the promptness and succinctness of your responses to all five questions. (grin) No ambiguity. No B*S*. I like that. Thanks again. Mike

I have come up with several uses for this which are more mentalism than mental magic. Am rushing about today but when I get time will write them up and post. Watch this space.

Thinking about other uses for the Juxtapad, it occurs to me it could be a perfect two way out.
For instance, you ask a spectator to toss a coin several times observing them closely as they do so. You then ask them to toss the coin another time and keep the coin hidden. You jot something on a post it and ask the spectator to now reveal the coin. It was tails and you say, having observed their coin tossing technique, you strongly felt they had just thrown 'Tails' and turn over the post it to show you were correct. From this you could proceed to a Which hand routine. Alternatively you could use the pad for an equivoque type routine and with the option of two outs giving you more wiggle room. Yes or no, left or right, light or heavy could be other either or options. In some more psychological type routines where there are two strong possibilities, again the Juxtapad could be a handy and innocuous device. Neil |
