I've never posted in this forum before. I collect voodoo dolls and figured I might as well use some or all of them in an effect. I'm aware of the Okito rising doll and effects where the placement of a pin is predicted but I'm looking for something different. I'm not a bizarre magic performer, I do comedy magic.
Thanks.

Here's a bunch of them: https://www.amazon.com/NUOLUX-Wooden-Fin......71XCC8F4 If you are planning to stick in pins and needles, try this one: https://www.amazon.com/Rocket-USA-Bozo-C......006FUAA4

I've never known someone who performs comedy magic to not have a sense of humor. That would be bizarre, even for weepinwill. I can see a tiny clown doll "come to life" and have to be chased down from spectator's pocket to spectator's pocket. Spooky but funny. I can see putting a clown finger puppet on my thumb and then piercing the puppet with several needles from several directions completely ignoring the blood dripping down from my hand, and having all traces of it vanish when the needles are removed and my thumb works perfectly. I can see plots in which two very different looking finger puppets change places when given to two spectators to guard. I can also see I'm not getting paid to mention all these things, so I'll stop here.

I may give up the 'streamer from the cadaver's butt' at my next FUNeral and have a devil and angel voodoo doll routine instead. I can see the smile on the people's face when the dolls predict their loved one is in Hell. What a laugh that will be.

You might want to take a look at Capricornian Tales.
If you read through the entire book, it may convince you to give up the plebeian styling of comedy magic, and join us in the shadow realm of the bizarre.

I have a old "Needle thru Arm" gaff needle. (RIP Harry Anderson).
I no longer do the effect it was made for, but it sees occasional use in my Voodoo doll routine. Some dolls do not bleed when stuck. Some do. |

Thank you, Will.
The sitter/spec is able to predict the bleeder. I'm still trying to develop a story as to why only some bleed. Ideas welcome. |

I think you should know why, even if you never explain it to your audience.
A simple explanation would be that some dolls are still linked to living people, while others . . . well, let's just say that the doll finally did it's job.

Now you have me thinking about removing the "Growler" from one of my dog's toys and transplanting it into a Voodoo Doll.
Pick it up and it growls. That's dangerous one. |
