I enquired about the Harries 2 month ago, no reply. any other decent quality mutilated parasols out there.

Abbotts have not replied to any e-mails, I sent my parasol back to them over 2 weeks ago. I may have to phone them. bad service.

Got it back, All repairs, Brilliant. Abbotts are the best, I want another Abbotts parasol for a backup. must start saving.

If their help is part-time or whatever, that info should be FREELY shared right up front, and customer should be given full disclosure and made well aware of this, including long expected wait times, HORRIBLE lack of communication, and for at least the last ten yrs now, POOR QUALITY PRODUCTS in many cases. Their flower stuff is probably still good, and perhaps things like their parasols etc. But their metal and wood products I have seen MAJOR decline from what it used to be, as well as paintwork. Very sad!! I contacted them about 5 yrs ago to request a slightly custom version of a Fraidy Cat Rabbit. (Actually just requested the OLDER style door mechanism rather than the newer style). Was told right up front it would "go on the back burner" and would be quite some time. Not a big deal, because it wasn't anything I needed in a rush. I had another version I was using, but wanted to get one of the original style mechanisms. Well, it went over a year, but that was fine, I had been told up front it would be a while, but when I finally got it, it was CRAP!!!! GARBAGE! Nothing like the quality they used to be!!! Crooked, sloppy, just sad. It wasn't even worth trying to contact them again, I just lived with it. I knew from other experiences that it would be WEEKS or MONTHS before I would hear back from them, and THEN WHAT??? An argument most likely, or tell me to send it back and they would see what they could do, but the issues involved would mean COMPLETELY REMAKING IT, and I didn't want to wait another yr or longer as well as pay for shipping both ways again and so on. Just really sad to see a once good company decline so, and seemingly NOT EVEN CARE!! |

When they had Bud West and Arturo running the wood shop, along with a number of Amish men, all the props were excellent. But as no one lives forever, they are all gone now.
