I saw him at the Leeds magic convention and he is one of the best silk and sponge ball users ever. His faser routine is just stunning. Just wondering who else saw him at the convention.

I wasn't at the Convention, but I have attended one of his most recent lectures and just about everything he does is very innovative and just plain GOOD. He puts TT use in a whole different realm.

I saw Jay at the SAMS convention in Scotland last year, and he is an excellent performer - with his own style. His sleight of hand and use of the items he chooses to use is first class.
The type of magic he does is, however most definitely of the type which requires practice and dedication. Brian.

I saw him, but his kinda magic just isn't for me, too classical. I liked his demo of the topit though, amazing.

He Lectured for our IBM ring last week. I had never heard of him before, so you can only imagine how pleased I was watching his presentation. Everything he does is pure eye candy, starting and ending clean. All of his routines show a tremendous amount of spit and polish.
I personally learned tons as he more than aptly demonstrated how visually entertaining and mysterious classic magic effects can be. I purchassed and will learn 3 of his routines over the next few months and am going to delve into topit work using his material as a springboard. I might not perform his routines in my shows for a while (or ever unmodified) but there is certainly a lot to his lecture and supporting material that will vastly improve my skills and my show. His performance left lasting memories in my mind. Enjoy, Mike

He is outstanding, his Ring and String Symphony is the very best. I think his master false thread move inspired a lot of magicians including Gregory Wilson in his Ring Leader routine.
Jay Scott Berry has a killer twist on the method for the 21st century Silk, his topit work is great (damn, when do I get to install those topits - it really fools people and make vanishes seem totally magical). He performs highly visual magic and you leave his seminars in a totally inspired way. |

I got "The Works" topit package and bought all sorts of stuff from his lecture. Spent more on his lecture than all other lectures I've been to combined.
I do NOT like his DVDs as they are all done to music and no verbal instructions at all. AAAAHHHHHHHHHGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG! Can't stand it. The material is top notch, however. One of the best lectures I've been to. The material takes some time to incorporate but if you put the time in, you've got some killer visual magic. Frank

His diamond cut silks are awesome! The "flame" set is an ideal way to use fire in your act, instead of lighting your dove pan on fire just use the silk to represent fire. I stopped using fire indoors and his silks are a wonderful replacement.

I have yet to see his light act, but his work with the Sanada gimmick blew me away!

I also saw him at the Leeds convention and found it a little too classical but he did blow me away. His light act in the evening show was fantastic.

Jay is a great magician and also a friend of mine. His magic is so different to anything I've ever seen before and his music is great.

Did you know he is also a computer graphic artist as well as a musician. His is multi-talented! I spent an evening with Jay going over everything magical. He really is inspiring. I can't believe I played his guitar and sang "magic man" which is the song "Ice Cream Man" by Van Halen but changing the words. I have everything he sells but it will take me a lifetime to master just half of what he does. His style is so smooth.
