I'm a cups guy. Love em. My local zoning people are trying to make me a "not cups guy" with their new table license, but I think I'm going to get around it with a cigarette tray set up.

I'm a Cups and Balls performer. I am also a Chop-cup performer (when I need to keep the equipment and props to a minimum).

While I don't do street work, per se, the cups are, and have been, a regular part of my close up work, whether strolling, at trade shows or in formal work.
I use combo cups because I love the idea of using the gaf with the :galloping post" move first to pass a ball UP through the cups, then to make it vanish. Obviously, the Chop Cup is also a favorite as well. One of the great close up and cabaret tricks ever! Just my tuppence worth! Lee Darrow, C.Ht.

I use them. I'm not a street performer per se, either, but it just seems like the right thing to do.
A spectator should see magicians doing the cups and balls. It's sort of an icon. I also feel that I should be able to do the cups and balls as a magician. I just started doing the Ninja Rings outdoors as well and it was definitely a crowd pleaser. I'll take that to a different thread, however. Frank

So how many people would be interested in a magicians only cups and balls website.
Discuss your lines... routines... cups... etc? |

I like it here just fine. Why don't we just start a "Cups and Balls" thread in "Secret Sessions?"

True... true. Do lines have to go in the secret sessions do you think?

I have yet to use cups and balls on the street. I close with my 3 ring routine.
But I am getting my cups routine ready to alternate with my rings closer. Not that the rings don't get a good reaction, but it is just a change of pace for me. I got my Gazzo cups with a nice patina from a little handling and being stored in my damp, recently flooded basement. And I got really nice realistic fake oranges from Walmart, so I don't have to get new ones every time one gets squished. These things are quite durable and cheap too, less than a buck. I am still working on a final load though, and havent found anything that really speaks out for me. So until I get that done, I won t be bringing it to the street. So for now, I have to say, I don't do cups on the street....yet BrodDavid

I use cups typically as my finale. My only problem is that I can not decide which cups I want to use. I use my Gazzo cups due to the larger load capacity, and they are excellent cups. I really like using Phoenix cups though. They fit so nicely in the hand, but do not accomodate a large load.

I've just started using cups and balls, and I can fit it into most of my acts.

I always thought the Gazzo cups would just be too big for my table, along with the oranges and hat etc.
For now I'm using the Babe set producing baseballs. matthew |

I haven't done them on the street. I have a nice 2 cup routine, but find the street, at least in my area requires effects that are short and spectacular.
