Hi everyone,
I am Frédéric from France.
I am a close-up magician. I like to practice card and coin magic,
but also other stuff from the close-up repertoire like chop-cup, ropes etc ...
Hope to meet you here and contribute/exchange on some topics.

Welcome! How popular is magic in France? What do you plan to do with your magic?

Magic is rather popular in France and more and more on TV. But the audience is sometimes more rational probably than US audience.
As a member of a local Magic Circle, I perform as close-up magician for local events, fairs, Christmas parties etc ...
We (magic circle members) also organize stage shows and the last one had a rather nice success (600 tickets sold).
My actual main interest/work is on memorized deck work that I try to combine with standard sleight of hand routines.

Greetings Fredzik ...
I respect and admire your taste for "memorisation" magic.
If you ever get the taste for "mnenomics" then Day One is a routine for you.

This enables you to become a Human Calendar ...
You give the exact day for any date called for, in any year, by the spectator - eg what day was 10th January 1033?
When they search that date on their smart phone they will see you are correct.

Nothing has been written down -
you could even draw them a calendar for that entire month of that year.

This downloadable routine comes with quiz apps, tutorials, history, and tests ... truly incredable ...

I have no commercial connection with this product.
However, I just have to recommend this item as a MUST HAVE for the working performer in mentalism.

For what is worth, now aged 68, I never have to buy my own drink when I visit the bar.
There is always someone wanting to test me out
