Have you ever had a song lyric in your head and you've changed the lyric?
Either the lyric was "questionable," you mis-heard the lyric years ago and still have the "wrong" version pop up OR (and this would be rare) you've updated the lyric from the original?

For decades I was convinced that the song by Pink Floyd "Julia's Dream" that he was afraid the skating armadillo will find out where I'm hiding...
I still recall the day I met Beaker from the Muppets. He said to me "Meep, meep, mee mee mee Meep!", and that has made all the difference.

Yes. Recently the first two tracks on The Cure's Bloodflowers - somehow associating the lyrics from the second track with the sound of the first.

Manfred Mann did Springsteen's "Blinded by the Light" and redid the lyrics.
"Cut lose like a duce" became "wrapped up like a duce". And well, because of the angle of the tape recording head in the machine I guess, it doesn't sound like "duce".

Seriously, I imagined a skating armadillo every time I listened to the song. It went well with the trippy lyrics and my world became a little smaller once I discovered the truth.

Mine's not that interesting. For years I heard a line from Don McClean's "Vincent" as; "Swirling clouds of violet haze, reflect in Vincent's eyes that shine a'blue." Only recently did I discover the last line is; "reflect in Vincent's eyes of China Blue." Arlo Gunthrie, in the song; "City of New Orleans," (it's about a train) has the line; "Passing trains that have no names, freight yards filled with old, black men." "Politically Correct" of me, I know, but I prefer; "freight yards filled with old, sad men." Arturo Voltaire has the NSFW number; "U.S.S. Make **** Up!" Its a song about the different aspects of Star Trek, from the original series, to "Enterprise." ("They say it is a prequel, or so it has been called. It's such a bad idea I'm sure that Lucas was involved!") The line that bothers me involves comparing the original Klingons with the versions in The Next Generation and films; "What's up with the Klingons, remembering the day, the looked like Puerto Rican's, and they dressed in gold lame! Now they look like heavy metal rockers from the dead! With fuzzy hair, and leather pants, and lobsters on their heads!" I find myself changing the lyric to; "...remembering the day, they looked like swarthy pirates, and they dressed in gold lame!"

Of course, we all heard it as the much more enigmatic "revved up like a ****** [French word for "shower," now an English euphemism often followed by the word "bag"]."

Haha! All these years I thought it was "wrapped up like a (the word described by Karnak above)".

Two songs,
falsely interpreted, left their mark on me, at a vulnerable age. ....probably screwing me up and made me what I've become. 'Hair' was a pretty big Show, while I was growing up. Somehow I never quite understood,... but KNEW it to be important: 🎶 This is the dawning of the Age of Asparagus. 🎶 Then came the Monkeys,.. messed up the way I treated the chickies: 🎶 Then I saw her face, now I’m gonna leave her. 🎶 Luckily, I discovered comic books,,.. lotsa pictures. gallagher |

Yes, I recall my younger sister was always correcting me but I have forgotten the songs.
If there is a single truth about Magic, it is that nothing on earth so efficiently evades it.

In the late 1960s when I purchased the Rolling Stones album “Let It Bleed”, I noticed a curious discrepancy. On the album liner notes, the second song was listed as “Love In Vain”. But inside, on the album donut, it was spelled “Love In Vein”. It always made me wonder if that misprint had been intentional.

I'll wait for delivery, each day until three. Oh Lord, won't you buy me, a color TV? Anybody, not my age, know what "Dialing For Dollars" is? (Quick answer, a game show, embedded within the local afternoon movie!) I think an updated line would be; Oh Lord, won't you buy me, a color TV? 51 inches, an LCD screen. I'll wait for delivery, each day until three. Oh Lord, won't you buy me, a color TV?

My ex-cat was named "Muffin". "Vomit" would be a better name for her. AKA "The Evil Ball of Fur".

And has anyone ever asked Steve Miller: just what the heck is a “Pompitus (?) of love”?
