Sheesh! Commercials, commercials, and more commeecials... and then a recap of those commercials. Four minutes in and still nothing about the topic. I gave up. Get to the point or get out of the way.

Yeah, agree those commercials at the beginning are really annoying. The Banachek interview starts at about 7 min in.

It is kind of sad .I don't understand why he keeps speaking about the Alpha project, something that happened 40 years ago! I think people really don't care.

Personally, I find the Project Alpha story fascinating. Banacheck was 16 at the time Project Alpha started. That he was able to consistently fool scientists into believing he had psychic powers - despite Randi writing to the scientists and telling them exactly what to look for is very interesting, to me anyway.
There was talk some time ago about a Project Alpha film being made. Not sure if that is still in the works, but I hope so. I also find Banachek very inspiring. He overcame very difficult beginnings having been abandoned as a child, yet has gone on to build a good life for himself. I have much admiration for the man and love hearing his stories. |

Nothing in my life would be worth talking about at 16. I was bagging groceries for tips back then. So more power to him.

Thanks for posting this, although I'm not sure why anyone should be offended. Worth a listen, and the Alpha project stuff was the most interesting segment, at least to me! So what if it was 40 years ago, or even 200 years ago? Maybe the younger generation doesn't care about anything longer than 10 minutes ago, but that doesn't mean that history isn't interesting to the rest of us....

Personally I very much enjoy the project Alpha stories. Every time I hear them I get new details.

That makes you cool by default.
Please check regularly if you are becoming the type of magician Jerry Seinfeld jokes about. (This applies to mentalists as well.)

I did listen to the whole thing but I must have missed it, maybe was not listening closely enough at that point. No problem and thanks for your reply as at least that explains that there was a tie-in.

I talk about it because I am asked about it. I talk about it because it is part of my branding. I talk about it because it is a valuable lesson. I talk about it because it is part of who I am and part of my life. I also talk about current things too. But if a Podcast wants to ask me about about it and wants to cover it, so be it.
MarK Timmon.. not sure why you see it as sad,, you say that as if that is ALL I talk about. what do you talk about in your interviews and what do you say when asked how you got started.? Or do you not have any past that is brought up? Barry Sonnefeld and Allen Sorken bought my life rights to to do a major movie so someone important in Hollywood thinks it is important part of history. My life is eclectic. Project Alpha is where I started and how I started but then there was the expose of Poppoff, the testing of many psychics, the first person to be buried alive, the Penn & Teller Bullet catch, Criss Angel TV shows.. opening of David Blaines second special, college entertainer two years in a row, The comedy club years, trade show years, restaurant years, corporate and theater years, night club years and what I am doing now and ... well you get the idea.. and I talk about all those things.. Maybe you missed it Mark Timmon because you are so focused on Project Alpha and it hits you personally? I do not know. Funny though, Project ALpha opens many media doors and I would be complete idiot not to use it to open those doors. If you want to find out more about what makes me tick.. listen to my own podcast.. commercial free. Banacheksbrain ..... we have interviewed Bill Nye Amazing Jonathan and others. I did a two partner with Mike Edwards on project Alpha.. but we cover a myriad of topics from sex to politics to .. oh yeah even a whole episode on toilets. Enjoy
