Today I received issue #9 of Bill Goldman's Bar & Grill and all I can say is "Bill is magic's best kept secret, and I hope for my sake it stays that way.
What it lacks in pages (only 8, but strong pages), it's full of great useable magic. Issue #9 includes: "The Rise of the Pyramid": This takes a idea by Jay Sankey or Paul Harris (take your pick, they both lay claim) called "Pyramid" and sends it into another dimension. I can't say anymore without giving to much away but the title is a clue. "Mercury Rising":by Joe DiPietro. A rising card folded up in an enigma! "The Shape of Things to Come": Not so much a effect as a tool to produce endless miracles with a deck of cards. "Countdown": A new and ingenious take on the 21 card trick that might just fool your magic buddies. Plus Bill talks about "Perception and Perspective" in an interesting rant. My next purchase will be the seven back issues that I am missing to complete this wonderful set. Only available direct from Bill at his website at http://www.bgmagic.com. While your there please overlook "One for the Money" and "Two for the Show". You won't get any use out of these so leave them to me. Jeff Pierce http://www.members.aol.com/jeffpiercemagic/magic.html

Bar and grill 9 is one of his best in the series. I love the series...tons of useable magician foolers. two for the show was ok, one for the money is unreal.

Is Bar and Grill #9 actually out yet? I ordered it a while ago because I think bill Goldman is an outstanding thinker, but I have not received it yet.

Hey all. Bill Goldman sometimes works in a magicshop (Wizards Apprentice Magic located in Hollywood Florida)which I frequently visit (I am a student of the owner of it...Jack Maxwell). All I can say is he is an INCREDIBLE thinker. Very creative. He also has a completely different performing style then most magicians. You have to see him perform. Im not sure if he still is doing lectures...but if you can DEFINATLY go to one!
PS: Look out for Jack Maxwell as well. He is destined for some great things. |

Bill's website lists a "new version" of Mental Yarn, one of my favorite telephone effects. Anyone know how the new version differs from the original?

Bill is a well kept secret and a very clever thinker.
In addition, he happens to be a heck of a nice guy, well worth doing business with. |

The numbers were eliminated from the second list in each set, to help eliminate spectator confusion. Also, it comes with a booklet of performance ideas and details that the original instructions didn't have. |
