Yes, it’s the study of animal behavior. Once you mentioned Ethology, the previous clues all seemed to make sense, and I thought Jane Goodall fit the profile.

Here’s a new one:

I was born with supraventricular tachycardia, a condition causing an abnormal resting heart rate.

My father is a Presbyterian of Scots-Irish heritage, while my mother is a Roman Catholic of Irish heritage.

I attended church regularly while growing up.

Shirley Temple? That would have put her at auditioning for Disney in about 1939 - pretty early, but if she wasn't auditioning for the MM Club, it might make sense.
