In 1957 I did a several screen tests for 20th Century Fox. Although I did not get those roles, the studio gave me a contract. After a few minor roles, I finally landed leading parts in the movies A Private's Affair and Flaming Star.

My ex-cat was named "Muffin". "Vomit" would be a better name for her. AKA "The Evil Ball of Fur".

And Mark is the winner! Barbara Eden, born Barbara Jean Morehead. (I wonder if she was teased in school for that surname).
I only had a couple more clues: I played my most memorable role for five years and 139 episodes. It was for a fantasy sitcom TV series set in Florida. In 1978, I starred in the feature film Harper Valley PTA, based on a popular country song. This led to a namesake television series in 1981. |

Well, in order to keep the flow going, I guess I’ll have to jump in again:
I was born in 1920, but did not meet my father until I was 8 years old. At the age of 10, I went to Paris with my brother, an accomplished dancer and choreographer. By the age of 13, I had become a member of his group, learning to dance and play various musical instruments. |

The dance group traveled Europe and the United States in the early to mid-1930s during which time I learned French, discovered classical music, jazz, and cinema.

My parents had died by the time I returned from the European tour, and touring the West had become difficult because of political conflicts that would lead to World War II.
Consequently, I gave up my dancing career in 1938 and instead started serious instrumental studies with a musical mentor. |
