It was stated earlier by Jake that he does each one manually instead of on a CNC machine. Each one is essentially handmade in order to better hide the gimmick

Johnson mass produced them spitting them out on a CNC. The precision was off on a lot of them. The locking mech. was too tight and would jam.
I turn these on a manual Jet lathe the threads have been refined. My attention to precision is powered by my OCD. The threading of the gaff is a smoother. I have to say, and I don't like doing it, but this beats anything on the market today. Each tube takes about 90 minutes to make. We have a CNC machine here and could spit them out like not tomorrow like Johnson did, but there is a quality and precision loss because the pieces are not matched and machined at the same time. Each tube I make is two matched precision pieces. I'm not bragging on my own work, but I am Proud of what I can offer for reasonable prices for a Classic effect. Kindest Regards, Jake Jr.

Tried to order, but could not complete the purchase. Screen said "Offline".
Edit: Well, it just went through. Not sure what the problem was, but all's well that ends well. |

I prefer the color color contrast of the brass tube & silver ball. Plus, I like the presentational possibilities of how the different metals can attract or repel, etc.
But it’s always nice to have options. Thanks Jake, Jr. |

Here's something I make each year in a limited edition of 13 units each Halloween. It's a cute little effect that is good year round or bizarre workers.

I love Jakes quality of workmanship and I am thinking of purchasing this .
Is this really self working as is says no ditching or switching ? I have an older version from years ago ( not made by Jake ) , however that version requires a ditch . Thanks for any clarification , best wishes Gaz 🙂 |

To my knowledge, Brema was the first to make one like this and he did it the same I do, by hand on a lathe. The gimmick is hidden and the unit can be handed out before and right after the ball floats back to the top of the tube. Like all my pieces, if you're not happy with it, return it. If it breaks you send it back and I replace it. I usually don't ask for returns in most cases but if did break, (not in my lifetime probably) I like to see where and what might have caused it to malfunction. I really appreciate all the people that made this feel worthwhile bringing back to the market as the Magic Maker and China versions are nightmares and very poorly made. Best to everyone, have a Happy Sunday, Jake Jr.

I just recently received some items intended for the movie Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone, but sadly these props didn't make the final cut of the movie. Let's see what's in the box. Hmmm. (Prepare a small cardboard box with mail packaging. Take out the different pieces and some folded literature you will make up. Be sure to have a water bottle on hand.) (Examine the pieces. Crack some eye jokes such as "This eye seems smaller than expected. It must be de-eye-drated!" Horrible joke ... eye know.) (Get to the literature. It could be some kind of auction slip etc. Read it off.) It says these props were intended to be part of a transfiguration spell in the movie. First we are to assemble the apparatus like so. And place the eye like this. Fill it up with distilled water. And cover like so. Next we have to chant together...Eye of Rabbit...Harp String Hum...Turn this Water Into Rum. Nope nothing happened. Let's try again. (Go through the procedure. Do some crazy hand gestures and have spectators do the same. Get them to hum like a harp. Maybe joke about how some golden rum would be good right now. Reveal that the eye has disappeared. Check the literature. Read the fine print saying that the water needs to be distilled because it will keep the eye "still" or else it will translocate nearby. Reveal the damp eye. Finish the routine) Something like that. |

Eye second Gaz's comment.
Though might I suggest instead of using translocate, perhaps... It will blink somewhere... |
