One day a lad had a notion,
That he could do card magic sans much commotion;
He became overwhelmed by the work,
Feeling like a helpless jerk,
Kind of like parachuting into the middle of the ocean.

But the lad still plods on. Thanks for listening.
So many sleights...so little time.
Cheers,

Ted

I like your poem. I bet you could use this as the patter for a trick. Kudos to you for the creativity.

And a bit more cynical:

An eager young lad wanted to do a trick
But thinking about hard work made him sick
He thought what's the big deal
Went on to YouTube to steal
And now magic has acquired another prick.

Ciao for now

'Do you like cards tricks?' he said
To the beautiful lady in red
He showed her twenty
And thought that was plenty
Cos after three she had gone off to bed!

He performed magic in all kinds of places
He loved the smiles on all the kids faces
He said 'Do you like rope?'
They all shouted'Nope'
So he showed them the Twisting The Aces!

He performed hundreds of shows on the street
It played havoc and hell on his feet
But he played to the crowd
And each one he wowed
Cos his tricks he performed really neat

An old guy feeling quite vain
Wanted badly to entertain
He read Strong Magic by Darwin Ortiz
Which taught him how to really please
But the classic pass still drives him insane.
So many sleights...so little time.
Cheers,

Ted

A young talent enthused with awe
struck down by those he adored
buy our books buy our tricks
a million links and clicks
now he's lost his passion once more

A proud father said with force:
Will, son, come pleate, magic course!
But Card College and Royal Road,
Tamariz, Bobo and other code
were his son's new hobby horse.

A boy wanted to fool Penn and Teller,
so he went to his Magic Shop seller
home he came with a thousand tricks:
Sponge balls, coins and chinese sticks
But none would help our poor fella
