Hi everybody,
I have been a passive member for some time now. But now I have have changed that, so an introduction may be in order Smile

The Magicbug bit me around 1990 and I had my first paid gig 1991, since then magic has been both a full time and part time occupation for me. The first show was a mix of juggling, magic, eating fire, glas and stunts like that. Later it evolved into just magic. With magic I have worked close up, parlor, small stage, streets, bars and the like.

At the moment performing is just something I do on the side. I do a mentalism show, a hypnosis show and some times I mix the two, so it's part mentalism and part hypnosis. My main occupation is as a hypnotherapist and a business coach.

I love the study of magic. I like our colorful history and to dive into it when I research an effect or method. I this moment in time I spend most my time studying mentalism and hypnosis, but I find inspiration in all the branches of our art and other performing arts as well Smile

That a little about me, thank you for reading Smile

Welcome Bjorn,

10 posts since 2015 is fairly passive.

Does your Hyp. act infringe on the credibility of your Hypnotherapy practice?

Hi Mary,
No, I don't belive it to influence in a negative way. But I really can't know for sure. Perhaps I should mention, that I always keep it clean and make myself available after the show to answer questions about hypnosis and how to use it as a vehicle of change.

You're right, ten posts in 4 years...that is passive Smile

How exactly does hypnosis work? I always thought of it as kind of .. scammy.. no offense meant by that honestly. My only experience with it is watching tv shows where people run around the stage, acting like a chicken and doing other weird stuff. How does someone becoming a professional in the field? Is it like going to a tech school or something?

Bcstoner, big question...The problem with a question like that, is that there is no good definition of what hypnosis is. No definition covers what can be done or experienced with hypnosis and in a social compliance context you might say it's kind of scammy watching somebody working from a hypnotic state perspective and vice versa.

Personally I really like the way Anthony Jaquin and his farther Freddy Jaquin are moving.

I think that when we observe a person I hypnosis, we create a picture in our own mind of what it's like. And that picture is an illusion and not anywhere near the experience the person in hypnosis has. AND a show is a show...and the show must go on...if they pay you Smile

Regarding learning hypnosis...it's different around the world. But the best way is to read a lot and find one or more teachers with practical knowledge in the fields you want to work in. Because hypnosis is both a science and an art.

I'm interested in the science, in love with the art and focus on results for my clients Smile

Greetings from Pittsburgh Pa! My name is Danny Caliguire, as a kid I used to be a dancer and my nickname was "Broadway Danny" I started going to my local magic shop, The Cookoos Nest every Saturday with my Dad in the 1980's, one of my best childhood memories. For the last 10 years, I have been consulting with Fortune 500 companies as a Digital Consultant. Magic has always been a past time, it's something I will cherish for as long as I am alive.I am mostly into close-up type stuff, I love classic sleight of hand, coins, cards, cups and things. Right now, I am into Silver And Salt by Geo, some Bill Abbott creations like No Brainer as a closer and I am obsessed with Tommy Wonder! I am exploring opening up a magic shop again, Pittsburgh needs one and you can't replicate that store experience online. I am also launching an online store with hand picked curated magic to offer what I believe should be in everyone's case. I respect all of you and I hope I will add some value while learning from those who have more experience.
