The SEI is the main magic club that meets in Madrid weekly (on Mondays if I'm not mistaken. I wrote to their President ahead of time and was able to attend a meeting. There was a great lecture although it was entirely in Spanish. I could follow along well enough based on the visual aspects of what the guy was doing. I think it would help if you could somehow make contact with someone there who might take you under their wing a bit. I'm sure if you ask around enough you can connect with someone. But even if not, I wouldn't hold off from going just to see what it is all about. Here is their web site.

Woody Aragon has a theatre with regular shows: http://teatroencantado.com I visited two magic shops also. Maybe if you go to one of the theatres or shops ahead of time you can meet folks there who can help introduce you at the SEI. I found most of the folks to be very friendly. Have a great time. |

I will be in Madrid on February (well, and in Hamburg, Düsseldorf, Nürmberg, Blackpool and Leeds!) so I can't really help you. My suggestion is you go right to Rei de la Magia, a super ancient magic shop and they can give you some directions there. There are plenty of meetings to attend although if you don't speak Spanish or Catalan it can be tricky. I'm sure they can give you some advice there and, if not, send me a private message or email and I'll give you some contacts you may give a call. Have a great time!
