I had a credit card sized translucent gimmick that was as a packet trick for years. The gimmick would be turned 90 degrees to give the illusion that the middle of a pencil held under the card would appear to vanish. Can anyone help me out with the name of this effect/gimmick? I need to find out what optic principle the gimmick used for something I am building. Thanks in advance.

Yes, that was included in the kit, along with the DVD's.
