This is interesting. Similar to Oz's effect Phantom?
I wonder how many matchbooks you get or does it teach you how to make these? |

Seems like I remember seeing in a previous thread that you get 10 gimmicks. Don't quote me, but I don't think he teaches a DIY method.

Yikes. I hope you get at least 20 for that price.

That is pricey!
Oh, what? Just do it for VIP guests? Sure! Might try this with business cards and flaming wallet. |

You are welcome. I used Google to search. For some reason, the search function here misses a lot of results.

Looks awesome. But indoors is impossible with smoke alarms and $ 5 per performance (or practice) is kinda steep for street performances. IMO.
Please check regularly if you are becoming the type of magician Jerry Seinfeld jokes about. (This applies to mentalists as well.)

Hey Guys,
To answer a few questions, and respond to a few comments... You get 10 matchbooks per package, however I have always put a few extra in (of the other available designs) for practice. Yes, for some this may be a bit pricey, but for me, it is only a few dollars per show, which is a small price to pay for such a powerful effect. For those that aren't into lighting them on fire, or the cost associated with doing so, there IS a handling detailed where you don't actually burn the matchbook, which means each matchbook is usable countless times if cared for. PhilDean - Hey man, I am sorry this isn't your cup of tea; different strokes for different folks as they say. I remain very proud of this effect, and it will remain a mainstay in all my performances. RNK - Thank you; I appreciate it. UnmaskedMagician - Thank you; as I mentioned above, the cost is relative, and if you use the no burn handling, one pack of matchbooks will last you a LOT of performances. itsmagic - Unfortunately, you cannot perform your suggested routine, as the gimmick is the matchbooks; you cannot make your own on your business cards. Thanks for the interest guys, if you want to know more, check out the site: http://www.masteryofmystery.com/absence Sean |
