Hi guys me and Paul Mc Caig just released a wonderful set of drawing cards. It is a s###k deck but with some good features:
1. Cards are hard plastic and screen printed (very durable) 2. Super simple to remember (literally take seconds to learn) 3. Take with you everywhere you go even on the beach 🏖 We produce them in batch as are expansive to mass produce, so make sure you get your set asap. DRAWING TEST CARDS Probably the easiest to learn memorised stack EVER! 10 simple designs and images, specially screen printed, as if hand drawn by a child using a Sharpie, onto white plastic card-stock. These top quality, plain white plastic cards, subconsciously prove to the spectator that there are no makings, the cards are completely opaque, so the image cannot be seen through the card and there appears to be a lot more cards than there actually are! Long lasting, easy to clean business card size, stored in their own plastic stud-fastening business card case, which can also be used as part of the routine. Complete with a link to a 20 minute video performance, instruction and handling tips download, with a pdf of the symbolic meanings of the DTC images. Introductory price of 30 GBP to include FREE Worldwide shipping! See Luca's performance here: https://youtu.be/InSxiZTJyLA ORDER YOUR SET HERE: http://www.psychicmentality.com/drawing-......333.html

So it's just a s###k of images or are there other functions?

I like the simplicity of this.
Also you could inflate the number of cards (should this be necessary) by saying I've got a dozen cards, or maybe more than a dozen cards here, and proceed from there. As I say, am not sure this is absolutely necessary but just a thought. |

Is it worth it though? Saying 12 instead of ten?

I know it shouldn't, and perhaps it is just me, but dozen sounds slightly vaguer than saying a specific 12.
But as I said before, there might be no need to refer to the number of cards in play, especially as in the ad it states 'there appears to be a lot more cards than there actually are!' |

Yeah, I guess I'd like the physical aspect speak for itself and not mention numbers...

Hi guys is a s###k deck so this mean that is a s###k deck.... so yes is a s###k deck 😂😂😂
Jokes apart... as you guys point out, the beauty is that being thick it look more than 10 and btw I never say how many they are (the video is in Italian but you understand what is going on). I just show them and I go through the drawing saying “here I have some simple drawing... we have the sun, heart, three “ (then I go through some of them.. move them in block then “mix” them up). And the fact that are thick also justify the kind of mixing.

This fits me perfectly... as my children always draw on my sturdy blank plastic cards with permanent marker... so this will blend right in!

So is this basically just a tweak on ODDS for the mentally inept?

No they are not drawn by the mentally inept... they are drawn by children.

I didn't mean the drawings were by the mentally inept, I meant the product. If you can do ODDS why on earth would you want this?

For $30 you can get the Osterlind Design Duplication System which has a bit more of a reasonable premise to it than this.
For $40 you can get a trilogy of Osterlind books which includes details of the ODDS. So for $10 more you can get 3 decent books by Osterlind and learn how to make your own ODDS. The offering on this thread is £30 for 10 kiddie drawings on sturdy stock. Nothing seems to have been improved upon or otherwise tweaked upon ODDS so I really don't see what the advantage of this actually is over ODDS. By the way, I'm far from a shill or fan of Osterlind and he and I have crossed swords a few times here. What I am about is shouting down supposedly "new" products which not only rip off previous products but somehow are weaker. |

This forum os to share ideas and to present new products, if you don’t like is fine, but offending people is not a good way to talk.

The DTC set has not been produced by, or for, the mentally inept but just like Richard Osterlind's ODDS, has taken inspiration from the many, many memorised s**** systems which have been written about and marketed for decades, if not centuries!
Unlike a lot of the s****** close-up, mind reading/drawing duplication systems available, which generally use more complicated block-printed images, words or photographs, the DTC set is made-up from a very easy to remember 1-10 numerical s****** progression of simple, very basic, hand-drawn and internationally recognised images. The DTC images are screen printed onto business card sized, slightly flexible, durable, non-glossy, silk-finish, blank plastic stock, which can easily be passed-off as regular card-stock, with images which that appear to have been hastily drawn using a Sharpie type permanent marker. Although not quite as thick as a credit card, the properties of the plastic card stock give the impression that there are more cards and images than there actually are. Also included is a transparent plastic business card case for storing the DTC set, which along with a few regular business cards and mini Sharpie can be used for drawing the reveal. The case can also be utilised to get one of the easiest peeks ever. As well as Luca's performance, the 20 minute video download gives inspirational credits, including the fabulous Mind's Eye Deck and superb Osterlind Design Duplication System, both of which I own and have used and strongly recommended for many years, step by step explanations and demonstrations of how easy the DTC system is, along with nuances and handling tips from Luca and myself. We also explain an 'out' should a participant ask to mix the cards themselves, as well as a pdf giving the symbolic meanings of the images, should you wish to elaborate, or give a cold-reading angle to the reveal. Because there are only 10 simple images to memorise and draw, using borrowed cards and a pen, the DTC routine can be easily made-up and performed impromptu if you are put on the spot with nothing on you, or can quickly be up-scaled to perform on stage. The price of £30.00 also includes Worldwide tracked shipping. All the best, Paul McCaig.

I don't hate anybody, I just hate lazy releases and this strikes me very much as a lazy release that doesn't really seem to bring anything new to the table.
IMHO this is something that is better with a stack of 20 or 30 images - in fact words as per ODDS makes even more sense to me. It's also something made better oneself (I've become a massive convert to Scott Creasey's philosophy of using a stack of double blank cards to make up anything). For this to be an attractive purchase it would have to bring something new to the table (apparently in this case it's the s***k). That's why I say fr the mentally inept because a mentalist shouldn't need someone else to design something so basic as a 10 item s***k. It would also need to be much more than 10 items. I don't think 10 items enough of a sense of randomness. To this end reducing it from a larger set such as in ODDS is, to me, a retrograde step and another sign that nothing new has really been brought to the table. |

When I first saw the advert for this, my immediate thought was that I like the simplicity.
And my view still holds good. I know there are plenty of decks which offer a lot of choice and options, including The Gallery, ODDS and Steven Young's Visionary (which remains a personal favourite.) But this set of just a few images can be just as effective. With the standard ESP sets, which are the mainstay of many, these allow a choice of just five symbols. With the brilliant Brass Coin Casket, it is a case of heads or tails. Or with a Which hand effect, literally a choice of right or left. Keeping it simple is no bad thing and makes for some mighty powerful effects. Also, from a performer's point of view, the system used is said to be very easily learned which again is good as it allows you to concentrate fully on presentation. Price wise it is on high side, I agree, but I believe this effect could pack quite a wallop. Neil |
